Therefore, there is no autonomy, therefore I am not existent. Thus it is said. This explains that persons and vases, etc., are also designated in dependence on their own aggregates, so it should be understood that they do not exist inherently. These are the two aspects of the reasoning of dependent origination. If something is born dependently and designated dependently, then that which is depended upon and that which exists inherently are not one, because if they were one, all actions and agents would become one. Those two are also not inherently different, because if they were, they could obstruct the relationship, since depending on it is contradictory. The Root Wisdom says: That which arises in dependence on something, that is not the same as it, nor is it different from it, therefore it is neither annihilation nor permanence. And, in the Praise of Transcendent Worlds it says: Suffering is done by oneself, done by others, and done by both, causelessness is asserted by the Tirthikas, you say it arises dependently. Whatever arises dependently, you consider that to be emptiness, things are not autonomous, this is your incomparable lion's roar. Thus, the reasoning of dependent origination prevents grasping at the extremes of one and different, permanent and annihilation, and the four extremes of arising. Therefore, having generated certainty from the emptiness that is empty of all objects of fixation on characteristics, without abandoning the certainty of the relationship of cause and effect, taking and abandoning is highly praised. The Commentary on the Bodhichitta says: Having understood that all phenomena are empty, whatever relies on actions and results, this is more wonderful than wonderful, this is more marvelous than marvelous. Thus, in order to come about in this way, it is necessary to distinguish between existing inherently and merely existing, and between not existing by one's own characteristic and not existing. The Commentary on the Entrance says: Even knowing that the arrangement of cause and effect of an image is without inherent existence, what wise person would regard forms and feelings, etc., as causes, and those that exist without difference from the result, and thus determine them to be inherently existent? Therefore, even if one grasps at existence, there is no inherent arising. As it is said. If these are not distinguished, then as long as a thing exists, it exists by its own nature, and as long as its own nature does not exist,

There is no deficiency at all, and it does not go beyond the two extremes of addition and slander. In the commentary on the Hundred Treatises, it says: According to the view that things are real, as long as that thing exists, its own nature also exists in the same way. When it is separated from its own nature, that thing does not exist in any way, just like the horns of a donkey. Because it does not go beyond dualism, all the manifest desires here are difficult to realize. Therefore, because there is no self-nature, all extremes of existence are eliminated; and because cause and effect of no self-nature can be established on it, all extremes of non-existence are eliminated. In the Explanation of Extremes, it says: An extreme is exhaustion, end, near, direction, and inferiority. Although our own school also admits the various extremes mentioned above, However, the extreme of the wrong path of the view called freedom from extremes is: In the Light on the Middle Way, it says: If there is a truly existent entity of the nature of the mind's own nature in the Middle Way, then, when it exists, how can clinging to whether it is permanent or impermanent become an extreme? Following the suchness of things as they are and properly attending to them is the place of falling, which is not reasonable. To attend to the meaning of what abides as it is, is not a place of falling, so it is not clinging to extremes, just as in the world it is said that a cliff is an extreme, and falling from there is said to be falling into an extreme. Clinging to phenomena as real, and clinging to nothing being established and non-existent, are the extremes of permanence and annihilation that contradict the true meaning, but clinging to phenomena as non-existent in the ultimate sense, and clinging to karma and its effects as existing in the conventional sense, etc., are not clinging to extremes, because the object clung to exists as it is. As it says in the Refutation of Disputes: If selflessness is removed, then it becomes truly established as self. It means that if it does not exist in the ultimate sense, then it exists there. It also says: If we do not accept the conventional, we will not explain. Also, in the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, it says: This arises because of this, do not prevent the worldly dharma. Therefore.
