If it becomes great, one must mainly meditate on impermanence and the faults of the lower realms. If there seems to be negligence towards the vows that have been taken, one should think that one's conviction in the results of actions is small. One should mainly meditate on the results of actions. If there is little renunciation for all of samsara, then the mind seeking liberation will only be in words, so one should contemplate the faults of samsara. If one does not strongly think of benefiting sentient beings in whatever one does, then the root of the Great Vehicle is cut off. Therefore, one should cultivate the aspiration mind, along with its causes, extensively. Even when taking the vows of a Bodhisattva and learning the practices, if the bondage of clinging to signs seems very strong, one should destroy all the objects grasped by the mind that clings to signs with the wisdom of reason. One should train the mind in emptiness, which is like the sky and like an illusion. If the mind does not stay on virtuous objects and seems to have become a slave to distraction, then the superiors say that one should mainly cultivate the state of one-pointedness. One should understand what has not been said through these examples. In short, one should not be one-sided, but one's mind stream should be able to be used for all virtuous aspects. From the Stages of the Path of the Great Being, the way to train in higher vision, which is the nature of wisdom, by learning the practice of a Bodhisattva, has been explained. Secondly, especially, the way to train in the Vajrayana: After training in the common paths of both Sutra and Tantra in this way, one should definitely enter into Secret Mantra without doubt, because that path is very rare compared to other dharmas and quickly perfects the two accumulations. If one enters into it, then as stated in the Lamp for the Path, one must first make the guru pleased by serving, respecting, and obeying, etc., even more diligently than previously stated. One should do this for a guru who possesses all the qualities mentioned in the Lamp for the Path. After that, one should first ripen the mind stream with an empowerment that ripens the mind stream, as explained in the original tantras. After that, one should listen to and understand the vows and precepts taken at that time and protect them. Even if one violates a root downfall, one can take the vows again, but because the qualities of the path arise very slowly in the mind stream, one should make great effort not to be defiled by it. One should strive not to be defiled by gross downfalls, and even if one is defiled a hundred times, one should restore them.

Various methods should be adopted. These are the basis for practicing the path. Without them, it would be like a dilapidated house with a rotten foundation. In the Root Tantra of Manjushri, it says, "For those with corrupted discipline, the Able One has not said that mantras will be accomplished." etc., indicating that none of the three levels of accomplishment, high, medium, or low, are possible. In the Anuttarayoga Tantra, it is also said that even if one practices without keeping vows, with inferior empowerment, and without understanding its meaning, nothing will be accomplished. Therefore, merely claiming to practice the path without keeping vows and precepts is a complete deviation from the way of mantra. Therefore, when practicing the path of mantra by keeping vows and precepts, one must first practice the complete mandala of the deity in the generation stage as explained in the original tantras. The unique thing to be abandoned on the path of mantra, different from other paths, is the ordinary conceptual thought that clings to the five aggregates, twelve sources, and eighteen elements with self-satisfaction. To abandon these, one must practice the generation stage, which transforms places, bodies, and enjoyments into special appearances. In this way, purifying ordinary conceptual thoughts, one will always be blessed by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and easily complete the immeasurable accumulation of merit, thus becoming a suitable vessel for the completion stage. After that, one must practice the completion stage that arises from the original tantras. Merely practicing parts of the path that are included in the latter after abandoning the first stage is not the view of the scholars of the tantras and their commentaries. Therefore, one should grasp the essence of the Anuttarayoga path—the two completion stages. These are just a way of showing one aspect of entering mantra here by name. Detailed content needs to be understood from the stages of the mantra path. If one learns in this way, one will be able to learn the complete body of the path that gathers all the essential points of Sutra and Tantra, thereby making the leisure and endowment meaningful, and being able to spread the precious Buddha Dharma in one's own and others' continuums.
