A bodhisattva who is a beginner, complete in all aspects, must rely on each stage of the practice path. If intelligence is weak, one should become accustomed to that extent. If intelligence is strong, or initially small but becomes large through practice, then the stages of the path should be expanded so that they are connected to all the immaculate scriptures and commentaries, so there is no need to seek out separate teachings. Therefore, if it is a complete instruction without error, even if it is concise, it should contain all the key points of the paths of Sutra, Tantra, and the higher and lower vehicles. If explained in detail, it should be able to encompass all the teachings. Until such a thing is found, one may find interest in only one aspect of practice, but it is unlikely to find certainty in the essential points of the practice of the entire body of the teachings. Therefore, rely on holy spiritual friends and companions, take pure vows as the foundation, listen to the instructions again and again, divide them into four sessions, cultivate the objects of meditation, strongly pray to the deities and gurus, and strive for each complete cause by engaging in many ways of accumulating merit and purifying obscurations. Then, a deep certainty will arise in the mind that the special qualities will increase more and more. The former holy ones also said: Make sure that the teachings you have heard before are firmly in your mind, and repeatedly think about them, measure them, and contemplate them. If you let the teachings be forgotten and only learn one-pointed concentration, that is useless. A great meditator has a great teacher, and a medium meditator has a medium teacher. The more you meditate, the more your understanding of the Dharma should increase. If you think like this and have a firm conviction, then when a bad friend says, "All thoughts of good and non-good are conceptualizations, so they should be abandoned," you will think that the Dharma does not say that, and the virtuous spiritual friend would not think that way either, so you will not listen to him. If that is not the case, then faith is like a little bit of flour, without wisdom. If you look at the face of someone crying, you will feel like crying. If you look at the face of someone laughing, you will feel like laughing. Like a stream of water, you will think that whatever is said is true, and you will go wherever you are led. Third, the divisions of wisdom are three: the wisdom of realizing ultimate truth, the wisdom of realizing conventional truth, and the wisdom of realizing the benefit of sentient beings. The first is: the suchness of selflessness, the general

Measuring from the gateway and measuring from manifestation. The second is the wisdom of being proficient in the five sciences, as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Without diligence in the five sciences, even the supreme ones will not become omniscient. Therefore, in order to subdue others and to take hold, and for oneself to know all, one should be diligent in this." As it is said, in order to subdue those who do not believe in Buddhism, one must study grammar and logic; in order to benefit those who believe in Buddhism, one must study craftsmanship and medicine; in order to make oneself know everything, one must seek inner knowledge, which is a special necessity. And all of these are sought in order to attain Buddhahood, which is without difference. The third is to know the method of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings in this life and the next without fault. How to do it when accomplishing? When generating these three wisdoms, one must possess six qualities and be related to the six perfections, that is, one dwells in it and places others in wisdom, which is the giving of wisdom, and the others are as previously stated. The fifth is to summarize these meanings: Even if there is wisdom that realizes emptiness, if there is no bodhicitta, then it will not become the conduct of a Bodhisattva, therefore, one must constantly increase the bodhicitta as the basis of conduct, and also make the perfection of wisdom of the high ground the object of aspiration to practice, and in order to perfect the unsurpassed great accumulation of wisdom, one must now strive to generate the three wisdoms and seek to hear, if one does not do so, one will violate the main content of what is learned, and be destroyed by transgressions, and in other lives one will not like to hear much, therefore one cannot study the precepts of the Bodhisattva, if one strives in this life for the methods of generating wisdom, one can avoid the sin of not learning, and in the future life, as stated in the Questions of Good Arm, one can easily perfect the perfection of wisdom. Thus, the fundamental pillar of both the Sutra and Tantra paths is the six perfections, there is a slight manifestation of the order of practice for meditation, while the order of practice for the other five is hidden and not manifest, therefore, a brief description of the key points of these practices and the method of generating certainty, that is, how.
