The borderlands and the foolish, the deaf and dumb, and those with incomplete faculties such as limbs and ears, as well as those with wrong views who cling to the absence of past and future lives, karma and its effects, and the Three Jewels, and the absence of the Buddha's appearance, the absence of the teachings of the Victorious One. The first two and the last one are unable to distinguish between what to accept and what to reject, and the third is not believing in the sacred Dharma. It is extremely difficult for the three lower realms to generate the wisdom of the Dharma, and even if it arises slightly, they are unable to do so because they are tormented by suffering. The long-lived gods refer to the formless and non-perceptual realms, as explained in the commentary on the "Friendly Epistle." In the discussion of the eight unfavorable conditions, it refers to the desire gods who are constantly distracted by the activities of desire. The non-perceptual realm exists on one side of the fourth dhyana realm, in a place of great fruition, in the manner of a monastery in a village. It is said in the scriptures that except for the moment of birth and death, the activity of mind and mental factors ceases, and they remain there for many great kalpas. The noble ones who exist in the formless realm, because it is not appropriate to be in an unfavorable place, the ordinary beings born there do not have the opportunity to practice the path of liberation, so it is an unfavorable place. The desire gods who are constantly distracted are also the same. Therefore, these are called unfavorable places. The commentary on the "Friendly Epistle" says: In those eight places, there is no leisure to do good deeds, so they are called unfavorable places. As it is said. Secondly, the endowments are of two types, of which the five personal endowments are: human existence, birth in the central lands, complete faculties, not committing heinous crimes, and faith in the teachings. As it is said. Among them, birth in the central lands refers to: being born in a place where the fourfold assembly of disciples travels. Complete faculties refer to: not becoming foolish and dumb, and having complete limbs and extremities, as well as eyes and ears. Not committing heinous crimes refers to: not having committed or caused others to commit the five inexpiable sins. Faith in the teachings refers to: having faith in the Vinaya, which is the source of all white dharmas of the mundane and supramundane realms, and here Vinaya refers to all three pitakas. These five are included by oneself and are the conditions for practicing the Dharma, so they are called personal endowments. The five other endowments are: the appearance of the Buddha and the teaching of the sacred Dharma, the abiding of the teachings and following them, and having love and compassion for others. As it is said. Among them, the appearance or arising of the Buddha refers to: three countless kalpas
