That arising of realization is for the purpose of generating the exhaustion of the obscurations to knowledge. In the unsurpassed path, although one does not study the endless and countless differentiations of the clarity of the accumulations as in the pāramitā vehicle, it is said that if one meditates on the meaning of decisively realizing emptiness with coemergent bliss, it is extremely swift. Therefore, it can be understood that realizing emptiness with the key point of the great bliss of the object-possessor is extremely swift for purifying the obscurations to knowledge of the habitual patterns of the mistaken appearances of duality. Therefore, all the great praises that are spoken of this path's empowerment and stages, and the first wheel and so forth, as being more excellent than other paths, are from the aspect of becoming a suitable vessel for the path of uniting bliss and emptiness, and of becoming a ripening cause for that to arise completely, but not independently. The path of uniting bliss and emptiness is accomplished swiftly, excellently, and supremely because it depends on being able to practice on top of that a unique cause, common and uncommon, for accomplishing the form body of a buddha that can substitute for the endless and countless differentiations of the clarity of the accumulations of merit and that can be recognized. Moreover, since that is none other than the illusory body, one will not completely find the key points of the two tantras until one is skilled in both the completion stage of great bliss on the side of emptiness and the completion stage of the illusory body on the side of appearance. In the Compendium it says: In the past, in inexpressible and again inexpressible eons equal to the atoms of buddhafields, from the passing away of the Buddha Dīpaṃkara until the Buddha Kāśyapa, the reason why this great secret was not spoken was because at that time sentient beings did not have the fortune to explain the meaning of the great secret. Although bodhisattvas strive and search for kalpas like the sands of the Ganges, the bodhisattva who delights in gathering says that he will attain enlightenment in this very life. The reason for this is that the Lamp Clarification says: Until that time, sentient beings were particularly inclined towards inferior beings, and they were tamed by teachings free from attachment, such as generosity and ethics, and they possessed minds that were frightened by the profound teachings. Therefore, they had no fortune, so the meaning of the great secret was not spoken at that time. At this time, sentient beings desire

Knowing the inclinations of beings who indulge in desires and in whom the five degenerations are rampant, the Tathagata alone speaks thus. The reason for this is due to whether or not one believes in the external means of inducing great bliss. Because one fears attaining enlightenment in this life through the union of bliss and emptiness by means of a method that thoroughly understands emptiness and bliss, not because one fears mere emptiness. The reason for fearing the conduct of those who are skilled in means and attached to desire is also because of small desire, but mainly because the limitless qualities of the resultant Buddha require limitless different distinctions of time and accumulation to be suitable, and it is seen that anything else is unsuitable. Even the great treasures of qualities dwelling on the great earth take a very long time, so it is thought that achieving it in each very short lifetime is for the sake of guiding some who are to be tamed, and is not as it sounds. Having great faith in this path and emptiness also has two possibilities of going towards fault and merit, which also needs to be distinguished. Both systems of paths should be well established, and after seeing the special means of accomplishment, it is extremely important to firmly establish the unique power of this kind of path with strong inclination. It is shown that it is extremely difficult to realize the suchness of the mind with the wisdom of mind isolation and to manifest the illusory body of conventional truth in other paths. It is because it is considered that the great bliss mind isolation brought about by the previous practice of the three vital energies, practicing the suchness of the mind, and then accomplishing the illusory body is shown as an uncommon path. It is said that without entering the great yoga tantras such as the Guhyasamaja, one will not be able to see the conventional truth even after many eons. Therefore, it is said that the conventional illusory body is the samadhi that realizes appearance without inherent existence, and that merely considering the deity's body as appearance without inherent existence is prohibited. Whether other paths ultimately tend towards this, and the reasons for this, will be explained later. The fourth part has three sections: explaining appearance, explaining nature, and explaining how to generate the wisdom of appearance. The first part has two sections: the classification of the names of the three appearances, and
