Going forth and striving diligently, purify sins and attain enlightenment in this life. By thoroughly meditating on the absence of self in phenomena, comprehend omniscience. Having understood one such yoga and meditating in solitude, the yoga for attaining enlightenment in this life is explained as meditating on the absence of self in phenomena. There are many such examples. Thus, to abandon the clinging to reality and to realize selflessness, it is also necessary to refute the object grasped by the clinging to self and to realize its non-existence. It is not sufficient to merely gather the mind without letting it stray to the object of clinging to reality. As Arya Vimuktisena said: If this object is not refuted, It is not possible to abandon it. Arya Deva also said: When one sees the absence of self in objects, The seeds of existence are cut off. The Madhyamakavatara also says: All afflictions and faults arise from the view of the aggregates. Having seen with the wisdom that arises from that view, Knowing that the self is the object of this, The yogi prevents the self. Thus it is. The way to generate a decisive understanding of the view of selflessness from the beginning is no different from what is explained in the treatises of mantra and Madhyamaka. In the Bodhicittavivarana, it says: Bodhisattvas, through the practices of the secret mantra path, generate the conventional aspect, the nature of aspiring bodhicitta. The ultimate bodhicitta is to be generated by the power of meditation. Therefore, its nature should be explained. Having said that, below it, they refute the self of the person asserted by other schools, and the self of phenomena, which is the truly existent mind that is empty of substantially different grasping and grasped, asserted by the Sravaka schools of our own tradition, and the Yogacara school, and establish selflessness. Because the secret mantra practitioners generate the ultimate bodhicitta through the power of meditation, before that, they explain the way to seek the view of selflessness as it appears in the Madhyamaka treatises. The Sravaka schools, the Vaibhasika and Sautrantika, assert that the grasped and the grasper are truly existent, but all the Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Aryas do not assert it in that way. One should know that ordinary beings who have entered their path have both of these ways. Third, here, some briefly indicate the tenets of their own view, such as the aggregates.

It is said, "The emptiness without investigation is like a water tree, devoid of essence. The emptiness that possesses all kinds of excellence does not change like that." If someone says that meditating on emptiness, which is determined by examining the object of self-grasping with the wisdom of individual contemplation, is not the doctrine of Tantra, then you who consider meditating after well determining the meaning of selflessness with scripture and reasoning to be a meditation without essence are truly a discerning person! The meaning of that scripture is stated in the Great Commentary Stainless Light of the Fifth Chapter: "The emptiness that analyzes the nature of the collection of subtle particles, is far from the emptiness of annihilation." As it is said, because the point of debate of the Madhyamaka school is not well grasped, it is thought that when the aggregates and so on are analyzed with reason, no phenomena such as arising and ceasing are established, and that it is the meaning of no self-nature. This is to prevent the emptiness of annihilation, but it is not to prevent all examination with the wisdom of individual contemplation. If it were not so, then in the Great Commentary Stainless Light of the Second Chapter it says: "Consciousness is truly existent, but the wise do not accept it, because it is devoid of the nature of one and many, like a lotus in the sky." With the reasoning of being separate from one and many and the example of a flower in the sky, the selflessness of the aggregate of consciousness is examined, and "That is known by the Madhyamikas." As it is said, selflessness and so on are established. This is said in brief, and the details should be learned from the vast scriptures. Thus, the selflessness briefly explained in that treatise needs to be understood from other treatises such as Madhyamaka, which contradicts the above statement. Furthermore, in the Great Commentary it says: "Vajra is indivisible and indestructible, and it itself is the vehicle, that is, the Vajrayana, which is the doctrine of Tantra and the doctrine of Paramita, the nature of the result and the cause are integrated into one." Thus, because the view of emptiness of Prajnaparamita as the causal vehicle and the great bliss of the Tantric vehicle as the resultant vehicle are said to be integrated into one. Therefore, it is very unreasonable to say that the view and the method of determination established in the Paramita vehicle are inconsistent with the doctrine of Kalachakra. Thus, there are many occasions in the root tantra to establish the view of emptiness.
