That which is called transformation is abiding. How should the command be given to all yogis who possess the vajra? This is the meaning of the sequence of questions and the answer to the meaning of supplementation. The spoken words, such as "karma," are spoken from the thirteenth chapter of the practice that is in accordance with fierce karma. If it is like this, then for a while, just achieving Buddhahood through great accomplishment is enough. If that is the case, what is the use of the other three? If the means for bodhisattvas to enter the Buddha-ground is sufficient, why not wish for other means belonging to the ten grounds, such as the ground of faith? Furthermore, without the means belonging to the earlier grounds, one cannot successively practice the later means, because the sequence is certain. This action is not the real thing, but only its image. The image is not actually doing the work. If one thinks that they are therefore without fruit, it is the same with approaching and so on. If there is no earlier one, then one does not practice near accomplishment and so on, it is only an image and not the real thing. In that case, no fruit is obtained. Therefore, none of them accomplish anything. If one asks how it is said that great accomplishment can lead to Buddhahood, it is because through those three, one gradually abides on the ground of realization, and therefore one attains the ultimate. If one makes extremely familiar those dharmas that have become proficient through familiarity in the mind, then it is possible to attain the ultimate result, just as those who practice pure conduct as Brahmins delight in those who hold skulls. Compassion and wisdom, like ours, are also like that; this is the reason of nature. Therefore, this is an inference that compassion and so on can reach the ultimate for those of one's own lineage and kindred, and from this it is inferred that they may also transform into the Buddha's teachings and enlightenment. This transformation also includes the suffering of the Hearers, the perfections, and ascetic practices.
