It is not appropriate to praise in such a way if one knows that it enters into the life of all things, binds other things, and does not require other letters to enter into its life. Because even grammarians know this much, because it is inferior knowledge common with outsiders. Furthermore, here, when combining all the recitations etc. with the inner and explaining the suchness of mantras, it is not appropriate to explain such external classifications. Because this is the time to avoid clinging to the mantras to be recited as merely external mantras. If someone asks this, it is good for those with thinking ability to have such doubts, so an answer should be given. Here, the Blessed One only quoted from the Tantra which says that A-thung (ཨ་ཐུང་།) is the root of all mantras, but did not make an explanation of it. Arya Deva (འཕགས་པ་ལྷ།) quoted "The first is one" etc., without making word explanations to others, but widely determined the meaning of "all short become language" through questions and answers. This is because it shows the ultimate abode of A-thung, so it must be known. Furthermore, in the Compendium of Conduct (Spyod bsdus), it says: "Those who explain the scriptures from here, first use the words of grammarians and only follow the meaning of the sound. They do not know where, for what, and how the letters enter. They do not know the suchness of the letters, because it is the realm of the Buddhas. You should understand it according to the order of the teachings. Listen," it was said as an answer to the question of how the short all become language. The explanation of the scriptures here refers to all the self-schools that have not understood the suchness of A-thung as explained by the Explanatory Tantra. Even if one enters Anuttarayoga, if one does not know the meaning of the Explanatory Tantra, it is said that one does not understand this meaning, let alone those lower scripture explainers. If someone wants to know how much they know and how much they do not know, then they rely on the sound scriptures and only know some vowel consonants and the sound meaning of A-thung. They do not know the suchness of the letter A-thung as it is. That is, they do not know the meaning of the letter A-thung, where the letter enters, etc. The reason for not knowing is that the realm of the Buddha is lower.

It is because it is the meaning of being selected for those. Therefore, in order to understand the inauspiciousness of others, one should comprehend the suchness of letters through the order explained below. The order explained below is: The so-called "complete speech," speech or sound, is the forty-nine vowels and consonants. The so-called "complete" is the collection of all vowels and consonants, and all differences, and the respective letters, dots, stops, and accents of the two, and all benefits, the limits of sound, declensions, and suffixes, etc., up to the ultimate of what is said. These are explained by the term "grammar." Therefore, from words and language to great treatises, siddhis of the world and beyond are accomplished. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: Just as one relies on a lamp to see objects in the darkness, even without the lamp of discriminating the appearance of words, one can enter the realm of self-awareness that is free from discrimination. Like this, the meaning of each letter belonging to language and words, knowing them separately, is the power of the short A letter. If one does not possess this, then ka and the others cannot become words, because they are finite. To this, Chag translates: Because ha is finite. These explain that the short A abides within the complete language, the first is to explain the true meaning of the eight lines such as "one in the center of nine," and it is also shown as common knowledge for grammarians. Then, in order to explain the suchness of the short A, it is said in the Name Praise: A is the most excellent of all letters. This speaks of six lines, and "the seed word of the door of all meditations. The letter A is unborn from the beginning, therefore it is the door of all dharmas," and so on. It is also said that A is a co-emergent letter, as proof, in the tantra called Vajra Mandala Ornament, it is said: In the center of the heart, the indestructible, blazing like a lamp, unchanging, the most subtle, A is the supreme lord. In this way, A is clearly shown. Then, in the Lankavatara Sutra, it is said: Bodhisattvas should rely on meaning, not on words. If one relies on words, then both oneself and others will fall away from the ultimate meaning. Some people use the fingers
