When casting on the ground after the second casting, it is said that another thread should be taken. When explaining the idea that the previous thread should not be cast on the ground, the 'Concise Commentary' says, "Because it has already been used in other mandalas, it is thought that it is considered similar to something inferior." The 'Word Commentary' also says, "Then, take that later thread yourself," meaning that because the previous thread cannot be used to draw the inferior part of the previous mandala, another five-colored thread is taken to draw the later mandala. The tantra says that of the two threads mentioned, the first is for casting the self-nature mandala in the sky, and the second is for casting its image mandala on the ground, and both of these are also five-colored. The thread for the action line is only white, which is because it is considered easy to understand, so it is not explained in the tantra. The 'Concise Commentary' says, "Regarding this, when casting the mandala line, two kinds of five-colored threads are explained, that is, like this, casting the line of the self-nature mandala in the sky, and casting the line of the blessed mandala that has become its image on the ground. Four kinds of threads are explained: white, yellow, red, and black, and the fifth is said to be like the sky. After grasping in the sky, observe the mandala there. Draw the mandala on the ground with the second thread." This is what is said. Also, even if the characteristics of the water line are not explained, it should only be white because it is necessary to completely avoid mixing colors. Also, the 'Word Commentary' says, "Like this, after cutting the thread, dividing the land, and then aligning the single-colored thread with the water line." Thus, it is considered that there are two kinds of five-colored threads and one kind of single-colored thread, a total of three. Therefore, if these are cited as knowledge and the threads are argued separately, it must be considered that the original thread cast in the sky cannot be cast on the ground. If that were the case, then the statement in the qualified mandala rituals of the 'Compendium of Sources' and 'Unsurpassed Yoga' that both of the original threads cast in the sky and on the ground are done with the same thread, and everything that one does in that way, would become contradictory. The thread of the action line cannot be cast in the sky.

Of course, it should also be understood that the wisdom line's thread is used to mark both the ground and the sky simultaneously. Do not assume that all lines marked on the ground are done with the working line's thread. Buddha Guhya also considers the marking on the ground with a five-colored thread to be the line of the blessed mandala, so the basis of blessing is to bless the lines marked with a single-colored thread. If one does not follow the order of explanation, but rather follows the order of meaning explained earlier, then the views will not conflict. The thread marked in the sky cannot be used on the ground, which is obvious in their respective classifications and will be explained when explaining the marking of the wisdom line. Prajnasri, in the mandala ritual of Kalachakra, used three threads according to the explanation of the Abhisamayalankara, but since no reliable explanation has been given by a master, it should not be trusted. Vajra Dakini, the Origin of Discipline, the Half Hundred, and the Four Hundred Verses, and many other scriptures, all say that there is no other thread besides the five-colored thread, and say that it is used to mark all the lines. This refers to first marking the working line and then marking the wisdom line accordingly, and not to the idea that the same thread is used to mark the working line. For example, Saraha and Krishnacharya both say that the five-colored thread is used to mark all the lines, but they also say that the working line is marked first, and then the wisdom line is marked on top of it. In the Garland Treatise, it also shows the method of using small strands of four threads as a sign: "Then make a white thread...", quoting that a white thread is also mentioned there, and a five-colored thread is also mentioned, so it is considered that there are two kinds of threads. The two aspects of small strands of four threads and sixty-four threads are not to show that the views of different masters are different, but to explain the rules of different tantras. Ratna Rakshita and Vibhuti both seem to follow the Garland Treatise in the classification of lines, etc. The former did not explicitly state it, but the latter quoted in the mandala ritual of Chakrasamvara: "First is the gray line, then the wisdom line." Darika also said after finishing the explanation of the five-colored wisdom line: "With a large amount of blood soaked, a qualified three-stranded thread, with nectar and white sandalwood, well made..."
