Merely taking what is widely known as the basis for argumentation, and thinking that no other tantras could exist besides that, is a desire that is far from the wisdom of the noble ones. As it says in the *Perfected Beginning Tantra*: "The source of the Perfected Beginning Tantra." And in the *Manjushri Magical Illusion Tantra*: "The Buddhas of the past have spoken, and those of the future will also speak." Also, in the *Tantra of the Play of Wisdom*: "The primordial Vajradhara I, from before all kalpas, until the ultimate end, such unsurpassed secret Dharma, wondrous king benefiting beings, have spoken, am speaking, and will speak." This is being ignorant of the nature of things. Therefore, the terminology of the New Tantras is that the Bhagavan spoke in various forms of detachment and perfect enjoyment on the summit of Mount Sumeru, in the land of Oddiyana, in glorious Drepung, on Vulture Peak Mountain, in Akanishta, and so on. These are gathered into the four or five classes of tantras, collected by bodhisattvas such as Maitreya, dakinis, great siddhas, and the three-family lords. To summarize what the definition is, it is the naturally pure nature of the dharmadhatu, and the inconceivable secret mind vajra wisdom of all the Tathagatas. The *Vajrasekhara Tantra* says: "The definition of all mantras is the mind of all Buddhas." The difference between these two in terms of the order of translation is that if one were to divide them into factions and biases based on afflictions and the dregs of views, that would be understandable. But impartial people would use immaculate great wisdom to distinguish the eighteen schools, which is only to look at them for the sake of roughly understanding their definitions. This is because they are derived from the translations from the time of the pandita's thorn up to the translator Rinchen Zangpo (958-1055). In reality, among the tantras now known as the New Tantras, there are also tantras that were translated during the early dissemination of the teachings. Now that it is the end of the five hundred year period, and the land of the noble ones is filled with sinners and barbarians, how could new tantras arise that are worthy of being accepted according to one's own desires? If someone has doubts about certain questionable Dharma terms, they would also place them in the category of the New Tantras.
