Then they debated. The glorious Dharmakīrti, like a plunderer (literally, one who plunders, here referring to the sun) ascending the snowy mountains, caused the heretical doctrines of the Tirthikas to decline and fall into ruin in every way. Because the vow of shame was difficult to break, even though the teacher sternly dissuaded him, he did not listen and jumped into the Ganges River and died. There, due to the power of his aspiration, he was reborn as the son Saṃghāra Ācārya, and his elder brother Bhāṭa Ācārya, as well as those Brahmins who were very attached to their own doctrines, fled to distant lands in the east. About five hundred impartial Brahmins became monks. About five hundred were placed in the position of taking refuge in the Three Jewels. At that time, a Brahmin from Magadha named Gaṅgā, and the good Gaṅgā of the destroyer, who possessed great power and wealth, and were blessed by the gods they believed in, even those who were skilled in logic, came to debate again and again. The teacher subdued them with the asceticism of eloquent speech, converted them to Buddhism, and established fifty Dharma centers in their respective homelands. The fame of completely conquering all directions spread throughout the entire earth. He resided for a long time in the forest of the sage Mataṅga, near Magadha, and accomplished many vidyā-mantras. Once, in the range of the Vibhiksha mountains, there was a king named Flower Bloom, the son of King Flower, who ruled over ten hundred thousand cities and whose enjoyment of wealth was like that of a god, he traveled the earth. Somehow, he broke into the king's palace, and the king asked, "Who are you?" The wise one replied, "I am the elephant of the directions, praising the virtues of Chandragomin, skilled in poetry, proficient in grammar, who else but me can conquer all directions?" The king asked, "Are you Dharmakīrti?" He replied, "That is what I am known as." Thereupon, the king built many temples and invited Dharmakīrti to reside there. He composed seven treatises on logic. "If the sun of Dharmakīrti's eloquence sets, then either the Dharma will sleep or die, or else the non-Dharma will arise." This saying was also written on the gate of the king's palace.

Ger wrote: In that land, tens of thousands of monks appeared, and they made the Dharma flourish. Fifty Dharma foundations were also established. After that, he went to the remote land of Jirtar, and made many heretics and Brahmins ascend the chariot of the victorious Dharma. He built a temple called Godapuri. Because there were so many heretics in that place, they set fire to the scholar's chest, and when all directions were consumed by fire, he remembered the deities and secret mantras, and flew through the sky by means of miraculous powers, and came near the king's palace, which was about one yojana away. After a while, an unyielding heretic, or Gar Acharya, who was an enemy of the Buddhist teachings, was reborn again, and grew up. He was more intelligent than in his previous life, and was well-versed in debate. A great Ishvara deity appeared on a vase. When he was fifteen or sixteen years old, he wanted to beat the victory drum of debating with glorious Dharmakirti, so he went to Varanasi, visited King Mahapani, and proclaimed in all directions. The scholar was also invited from the south. More than five thousand Brahmins, along with the king and countless others, were placed as witnesses, and the flag of whichever side won was erected. The wheel of debate began an extremely fierce and sharp competition. After beginning, the ocean of Dharmakirti's reasoning, accompanied by the glory of the sun, made the crow enemies of the opposition very blind to the place of rational debate. He took away their hope of living out the rest of their lives in peace, and they sank into the central whirlpool of the Ganges River. Those deceitful Brahmins also once again increased the power of discerning wisdom, seeking where the ultimate boundary of their own sect was. Many became monks, and many took up the vows of lay practitioners. Furthermore, the Brahmins Bi Gyasingha, Deva Bi Gyakara, and Deva Singha from the land of Kashmir, these three great Brahmin scholars also came to the presence of glorious Dharmakirti, and with an upright mind, they debated and examined the tenets. Dharmakirti's rational debate
