I, endowed with corresponding meditations, should focus on the Four Noble Truths. What are the four? They are the Truth of Suffering, the Truth of the Origin, the Truth of Cessation, and the Truth of the Path. Firstly, the arising of the nature of the five aggregates of grasping is the Truth of Suffering. Secondly, the craving that arises again, accompanied by joyful desire, delighting in this and that, from which all suffering arises, is the Truth of Origin, which is shown to be the cause of suffering. Thirdly, the complete cessation and pacification of that craving itself is liberation. Fourthly, the Truth of the Path that leads to the attainment of Nirvana, which is the Noble Eightfold Path, wherein Right View is undefiled wisdom. Right Livelihood is abandoning the five wrong livelihoods such as flattery. Right Effort is initiating diligence. Right Mindfulness is not forgetting the object. Right Concentration is the four Dhyanas. Right Speech is the four paths of virtuous action. Right Action's limit is the three natures of abandoning the non-virtuous paths of bodily action. Right Thought is thoughts such as harmlessness and renunciation, and various other thoughts. Similarly, higher morality is that which is completely dedicated to Nirvana. Higher mind is the four Dhyanas, the basis of the Noble Path. Higher wisdom is that which corresponds to the part of discernment. Within these three trainings, there are more than one hundred and fifty trainings, and those who diligently practice them are called the Noble Sangha. If this basis is applied to the Mahayana path, the Pratimoksha vow is merely refraining from the root of harming others. The Bodhisattva vow, on top of that, includes the transgression of benefiting others, which is the Vow of Restraint of Discipline; accomplishing all virtues and perfecting the six perfections, which is the Vow of Gathering Virtuous Dharmas; directly or indirectly, solely accomplishing the benefit of others, which is the Vow of Benefiting Sentient Beings, these are the three aspects. Similarly, the Pratimoksha, encompassed by seven abandonments, focuses mainly on body and speech, and includes the intention to benefit others, and will not be separated.

Bodhisattvas primarily focus on abandoning the ten renunciations, and distinguish between the precepts and what is to be learned by including altruism. Similarly, in terms of results, Hearers and Solitary Realizers, in the stage of cause, do not accumulate vast amounts of merit, so they only attain the path to their own liberation. Bodhisattvas, in the stage of cause, diligently accumulate immeasurable amounts of merit and wisdom, so they attain the three bodies when they achieve the result. On top of that, if they receive the empowerment of mantra, they enter the three vows, like adding parapets and handrails to a wall. Therefore, both what is to be learned and the qualities become more extensive. If conflicts arise between these, then both the intention to prioritize the higher and the intention to prioritize the lower must avoid harm and require benefit. The meaning of conformity lies in directing the individual's continuum towards the aspect with the greatest capacity. If there is conflict, it is not permissible. If it is permissible, then there is no possibility of conflict, and it must not be confused. Thus, the determination of the three vows is to be examined by the Dharma of scripture, and whether it changes or not depends on the Dharma of realization in the individual's own continuum. In reality, the difference between those who verbally claim to have the three vows, who judge with the intention of entering the path, and those who have achieved asceticism in accordance with the true nature of Dharma, although not contradictory in essence, is that the difference in nature is extremely contradictory. In general, the characteristic of the Holy Dharma is that merit, the path, and Nirvana must be determined as the meaning to be expressed. Among these, from the perspective of what is expressed and what expresses, the Holy Dharma of scripture and realization exists in two ways, as stated in the Treasury: The Holy Dharma of the Buddha is of two kinds, namely, the nature of scripture and realization. The Dharma of scripture is the means of entering the meaning of realization, so all perfect expressions are such. Among these, there are two kinds of expressions, worldly and transcendental. The former is known because the words of the eight examinations and so on are in accordance with the Dharma of samsara. Here, in order to be in accordance with the world, the distinctions of words about the examination of the vessel and essence worlds, etc., are arranged first, as stated in the Hundred Wisdoms: If human laws are well practiced, then the path to the realm of the gods is not far. On the ladder of gods and humans, climbing leads to the state of liberation.
