From... Those who do not contemplate the meaning, if they know how to meditate without thinking, the sword of affliction will be worn away. Once many thoughts arise, no matter how much one meditates, one cannot be liberated. Therefore, all of these are in accordance with the view of not clinging to anything without thinking. The Pacification School also holds this view. Padampa said: When the five senses are clear, the mind consciousness does not wander, that is the great method of Samadhi. And, when alone in seclusion, rest the awareness nakedly. When among many people, observe whatever appears to the senses. And, for meditating on immaculate awareness, do not use the meditation of thought to help, but consider it a disturbance. All of these are in accordance with the view of not thinking. However, first revealing the weaknesses of the mind, and practicing the skill of placing the foundation on the basis of reality, the Madhyamaka school calls it abiding meditation and analytical meditation, as well as crushing into dust, etc. The Mahamudra school calls it sudden cutting, effortless spontaneity, innate origination, etc. The Dzogchen school calls it tracing the source, observing the source of dwelling and movement, determining the destination, etc. Each, through the certainty of the key instructions, applies the action of mind to mind, thereby engaging in outward-looking discrimination, these are very similar to the key instructions of the Khenpo's tracing. If one obtains a correct understanding of reality, instead of resting awareness on its natural state, if there is something to see, something to meditate on, something to analyze, something to think about, then it is only an artificial, alternating view, not the secret path of all perfections, not even a shadow of the pure abiding meditation of Kusali. Considering this, the Fifth Omniscient One said: Clinging to empty debates and establishments, and revolving the wheel of false words, does not bring one closer to the city of liberation. This shows that the discrimination of the mind cannot see the true meaning. Also, Gonpa said: Do not meditate on primordial meditation with the mind, do not alter self-nature with fabrication. Do not deliberately meditate on non-discrimination, let the mind rest in its own nature, and remain vigilant. And, Drogon Shang Rinpoche said: As long as the mind can discriminate, no matter how profound the realization, it is not reality. Clinging to both the seer and the seen

Until then, it is impossible to realize the non-dual reality. As Khulungpa said, "Since mind and dharma are not anything, one does not meditate on anything during meditation." These words are very clear and easy to understand. Those are definitely the true holders of the meaning lineage. If answering from our own Dzogchen tradition, since there is no karmic connection with you, it would be like sounding the summer drum in the ear of a monkey, which would only increase its fear and give rise to unbearable wrong views that would cause it to remain in the Avici hell for a long time. Or, there is also the fear that the profound emptiness that you desire will not even be worth a pile of rubble. Not only that, precious

. The wise are close to accomplishment, or the foolish have steadfast faith, they are also close to the accomplishment of practice. Logicians who speculate and analyze, their accomplishment is said to be distant. It is said so. Therefore, those who read, listen, and contemplate should focus their samadhi on the analytical meditation of the Sutra system, while those who abandon worldly affairs and meditate should focus their minds on the yogic meditation of the Mantra system, as there is a great difference between the two. If one establishes the validity of one's own system and refutes others, it only becomes a cause for accumulating obscurations based on the Dharma. Some argue about the superiority and inferiority of views, claiming that this is beneficial to sentient beings and is permitted by the Buddha, and that previous abbots have also said so. However, this kind of method is not intended to refute others, but only to debate which is closer to the definitive meaning, and there is no fault in such debate. If it is like the former, it may also lead to the cause of degeneration due to the acceptance and rejection of the Great Vehicle's teachings. As it is said: Only by faith can one enter, these discriminations are only names. Whoever meditates is far from the truth. And as the tantra says: Whoever holds on to the bias of a philosophical system and slanders others, it is obscuration within obscuration, and they will be deprived of the fruit of merit. After death, they will experience the suffering of hell, which is the same as the karma of immediate retribution. Also, the root downfall of secret mantra will also be incurred. Master Bhavyalila said: Slandering the Dharma of one's own or another's philosophical system is the sixth root downfall. Therefore, even for the well-spoken texts of non-Buddhists, if they are blessed by the Buddhas, or spoken by emanations, and prophesied by the Victorious One himself, then what need is there to mention slandering those teachings that are seen as suchness by those who possess the scriptures and commentaries and are qualified? Therefore, such faults are extremely difficult to tolerate, and one should not create the suffering of the lower realms by holding on to sectarian biases. I fold my hands and rejoice. Secondly, those of intermediate faculties should contemplate all external and internal phenomena, including the environment and beings, one's own body, aggregates, elements, and sense bases, as the single mandala of peaceful and wrathful deities, and not move from the state of the three doors and three mandalas.
