Thus, all deficiencies are purified. Third, examining the true name of the lowest faculty, this name is very great, and it is not appropriate to apply it even to the intermediate faculty, but it is so called because of the common language of the world. Or, the general Sangha, because they cannot integrate the definite suchness into their own mindstream, confess through repentance and lamentation in order to purify the sins and obscurations of themselves and all sentient beings who are the objects of focus. There are three aspects to this: the distinctions in the way karma is purified, the distinctions in the object of focus, and the actual confession and vows. The first is said to have four aspects: purification through realization, purification through confession, purification through antidote, and purification through experience. The first is: if, through the wisdom of realizing selflessness, one realizes that all phenomena of samsara and nirvana appear, but in reality have no truth, then the results of karma cannot harm one. As it says in the Sambhuta Tantra: "Even killing Brahmins every day, committing the five heinous crimes, enjoying the fruits of thieves, one can be liberated by this path, and will not be stained by sin, and will be far from the faults of existence."
