Ogyen (Padmasambhava), the infallible protector, Gyalwa Longchenpa (Longchen Rabjampa), the Buddha of immeasurable kindness, Always inseparable in my heart, Today, you reside as the crown ornament on my head. The yogi of Sul in U-Tsang (Central Tibet), The Adrak (fierce one) born in the northern borderlands, Meeting someone I've never heard of before, Must be a karmic connection from a previous life. Distinguishing experience and realization on the basis of meaning, This supreme Dharma, the Great Perfection, is mine, Taught to you without reservation, Do you directly know the nature of awareness? You, firstly, have obtained the precious human body, Secondly, have encountered the sacred Dharma, Thirdly, have heard the oral instructions, It would be a pity to waste this opportunity. In the midst of many people, attachment and aversion increase, The appearances of the land are skilled at deceiving, Even good intentions are diminished by circumstances, Make a firm decision and go to a solitary place. Merely arriving at any place, The difficulty of finding leisure and endowment, the ease of impermanence, And the acceptance and rejection of karma and its results arise naturally. Knowing the faults and virtues of samsara and nirvana, Is the quality of staying alone. Not to mention the suffering of the lower realms, Even seeing the hardships of worldly people, How can there be freedom not to practice Dharma? Cherish not being mistaken in pursuing your own peace, Trusting the Three Jewels from the depths of your heart, Is the lifeline of relative refuge. Once you realize that the object of refuge is your own mind, It is seeing the truth of Dharma nature, the root of all Dharmas is Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment). Without compassion, you will stray into the path of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, Being willing to give up body and life for the benefit of others, As such, do not separate from Bodhicitta. The view of emptiness without compassion, And the recitation of generation and completion stages will not lead to the path, Even relying on a guru without devotion, Is of little benefit to the arising of experience and realization. Subjugate the guru with devotion, When heart and mind become one, The guru's realization can be transferred to the student. Self-born wisdom transcends the mind, If not
