Earnestly pray to attain the illusory body. Then, visualize all the phenomena of outer and inner things as actually non-existent, but appearing due to the dominance of illusion, like eye floaters, mirages, dreams, echoes, cities of gandharvas, magic tricks, lightning, water bubbles, and figures transformed by magicians. As it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "Magicians can transform into various images such as horses, elephants, and chariots, but there is no real appearance in them. All dharmas should be known to be like that." This is mainly to extensively remember the realm of attachment that is like an illusion. Among them, there are two types to practice: the impure illusory body in the common sense and the pure illusory body, as well as the wind-mind illusory body in the secret sense. First, the first aspect is to train the ordinary three doors into a magical way: let your own image appear in the mirror, and then apply decorations, food, etc. to it, and see if it is happy; or alternately beat, scold, and show rude expressions, and see if it is unhappy. Just as it has neither happiness nor unhappiness, let yourself get used to it, so as to practice the skill of showing illusory scenes. Similarly, for the image in the mirror, arbitrarily say various gentle or rough words, but just like no attachment or hatred arises, train the language to be like an echo. Similarly, the changing dharmas of mirages also appear like sunlight and breeze shining on gentle water vapor, but in reality they have not become water. For the various discriminating thoughts of the grasped and the grasper that appear in the mind, also visualize that they are only appearances, and are not actually established as true. In this way, since the three doors of body, speech, and mind and the appearance of the external environment are interdependent and arise from mutual relations, therefore, for diseases, ghosts, etc., and the eight worldly dharmas such as gain and loss, fame, etc., keep calm in a quiet place. After getting used to it a little, in front of many people, firmly make your vows and learn to integrate with various situations. If attachment or hatred arises, return to a quiet place again and practice being able to withstand various situations. Second, regarding the pure illusory body, there are the emanation form yoga and the nature form.

In the yoga of (generation stage and completion stage), firstly, since the generation stage is the preliminary practice of the completion stage, it is best to master the generation stage beforehand. If not, without stable familiarity with the illusory deity visualization on the path of the completion stage itself, one cannot be certain of the actual practice of the path of arising as the Sambhogakaya in the Bardo. Therefore, one should first rely on the conventional body of means. Allow the image of the Yidam, in various postures such as standing, sitting, or lying down, whether painted or sculpted, to appear in a mirror, or even more clearly in a second mirror. Gaze at this image for a long time with focused awareness, training to become familiar with it in the mind. As stated in the Five Stages: 'Vajrasattva well-painted, is like a spotless mirror, in which images appear clearly.' When this familiarity becomes extremely stable, one must then learn the yoga of the nature of form. If one does not train in this way, merely relying on the clear appearance of the deity body conjured by conceptual thought, one will not attain supreme accomplishment, nor will one transform into an illusory body. Therefore, one should train to transform the previously acquired habit of conceptual fabrication into a clear appearance of the generation stage, characterized by the view of insight, so that this very body of karmic maturation is completely purified into the nature of the deity. Although it appears as faces and hands, it will actually appear as the empty form of the Mahamudra deity, devoid of inherent existence. As stated in the Kalachakra: 'Born from one's own mind, like an image in a mirror, all the victorious sons and powerful yogis should constantly practice.' Then, to enhance (abilities), meditate on the deity as being as large as filling the entire universe, or as small as fitting into a mustard seed, or manifesting from one into many, or condensing many into one, and so forth. Furthermore, in both post-meditation and fundamental meditation, all appearances of the container and its contents, which appear vividly to the sensory consciousness, and all their habitual imprints that appear to the mental consciousness, should be practiced as the deity and the palace. In particular, the reason for meditating on the illusion of the deity at this time is to arise as the deity appearing in the Bardo from the clear light of nature, just as the illusory body appears in dreams, transforming the nature of the three poisons into the three Kayas.
