Because it has such a nature. That is, the causes of falling are the lack of roots of virtue, small compassion, not fearing the suffering of samsara, being controlled by sinful friends, thinking that great Bodhi is far away, being blessed by demons, relying on Hinayana people, and engaging in Hinayana treatises, Abandoning sentient beings, speaking evil words to Bodhisattvas and generating malice, not abandoning aspects that are incompatible with Bodhicitta, and also not understanding, being careless, being disrespectful, and having many afflictions. As the Bengali yogi believes, afflictions are the root of everything, so treat them like enemies. For any small cause and effect of harm, Those whose pride of anger is extremely strong, after enduring the punishment of arrows, spears, and swords, do not retreat before the purpose is achieved, then, against the powerful army of afflictions that are enemies to me in every way, after fighting, how can one abandon the vow to protect the precepts without eliminating hatred? In the world, for a small cause of harm, like touching the boundary of a field, and for a small result, like a drop of water, it is extremely unbearable. Becoming angry, experiencing a mind like a poisonous snake, engaging in mutual struggle and fighting, without obtaining one's own victorious position, one does not care about the great wounds caused by various weapons such as arrows and spears, if one does not retreat from battle, then, in all aspects, the afflictive enemies who lead sentient beings to hell, animals, and the world of Yama, are powerful and have many troops, and their nature is suffering. One must fight them with powerful antidotes, without laziness or discouragement, and conquer them like seeking revenge, as stated in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way": When destroying afflictions in this way, one should always be unretreating, one should develop attachment to it, fight by holding it as an enemy, what else is the use of destroying such hundreds of afflictions other than destroying afflictions? I would rather be destroyed now than let afflictions gain victory, all the holy ones
