The net was taken without hesitation. The lap was used as a bathroom. All the unclean and smelly parts were wiped with hands. Served with soft milk. Endured the cold of the flesh and was not tired of rough clothes. With a loving heart, disregarding suffering, one would rather die than have the child sick. Taught language and friends. For these, enduring sinful deeds and suffering, and unbearable bad words, if one tramples on these kindness and service, it is harming sentient beings, and there is no more degenerate behavior and evil thought than this in the world. Because there is nothing more degenerate than this, it is oppressed by a heavy burden. As it is said, "This land with mountains is not my burden. The heavy burden of ingratitude, like a person who swallows poisonous food." Its burden is like aconite poison, a violent poison that is much faster than poison, and like swallowing poison mixed with food, although one thinks it will not decay, it will eventually decay, as stated in the Vinaya-vibhaga: "The lands and the mountains, and the ocean are not my burden, but whatever is an ungrateful deed, that is my heavy burden." Therefore, the way to repay kindness is: Therefore, all limitless sentient beings, having been mothers, bestowed benefits, remembering this sacred kindness, remembering will increase the four immeasurables such as love, and for those who know and repay kindness, one should serve with excellent wealth. Like this, if one recognizes that all sentient beings have been one's mother, one will remember their kindness. Remembering in this way, one will obtain the thought of knowing and repaying kindness, and naturally generate pleasant love. Pages 160 to 200.
