It is because it has the nature of giving and so on. Also, the causes of falling into sin are: lack of faith, small compassion, not fearing the suffering of samsara, being possessed by evil friends, thinking that enlightenment is far away, being blessed by demons, relying on Hinayana people, engaging in Hinayana scriptures, Abandoning sentient beings, speaking ill of Bodhisattvas and generating evil thoughts, not abandoning things that are contrary to Bodhicitta, and also not understanding, being careless, being disrespectful, and having many afflictions. Thus, the yogi of Bengal affirms that afflictions are the root of everything, so one should harbor hatred towards them. If there are those whose pride of anger is extremely strong even towards small causes and effects of harm, they endure the punishment of arrows, spears, and swords, and do not retreat until the matter is accomplished. In all ways, having fought with this powerful affliction that has become an enemy to me, how can I abandon the asceticism of protecting the precepts before the ritual of holding a grudge is extinguished? In the world, even a small cause of harm, like touching the edge of a field, and its small effect, like a drop of water, are extremely unbearable. One becomes angry, experiences a mind like a poisonous snake, and engages in fighting and battling each other. Even if various weapons such as arrows and spears inflict great wounds before one attains the state of victory, One does not retreat from battle. In all ways, the enemy of afflictions, who leads all sentient beings to hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, is powerful and has a large army, and whose nature is suffering. Having fought against this with a strong antidote, without laziness or cowardice, the way of punishing with hatred is as stated in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: When destroying afflictions in this way, one should always be unretreating. I should be attached to this, and fight with hatred. Such afflictions, except for those who destroy afflictions, I am accumulated and killed, or my head is cut off.

Now also. One should not bow down to the enemy who is always afflicted. Thus it is said. Therefore, as a friend of the asceticism of guarding the precepts, one should attend to the seven precious royal possessions suitable for the noble lord. From the cultivation of the conventional bodhicitta by the teacher Warrior: With the precious wheel of faith, guide the path of virtue day and night. With the precious consort of morality, wear a garland of ornaments that is extremely beautiful. With the precious minister of generosity, great power of merit and wisdom arises. With the precious general of hearing, destroy the battlefront of the enemy of wrong thoughts. With the supreme horse of knowing shame, hide the afflictions and self in a hidden place. With the elephant of the power of embarrassment, abandon inverted actions. With the precious jewel of wisdom, fulfill the hopes of oneself and others. The wealth of the noble one with infinite qualities, other ordinary wealth is the cause of suffering. Thus it is said. Here, bound by the prison of afflictions, I cannot even know my own limits, let alone liberate all beings from it, how could the steadfastness of salvation not diminish? Regarding this, afflictions do not exist in external objects, nor do they exist in the collection of internal faculties, nor do they exist in the realm called "between" and "intermediate," but arise suddenly and spontaneously from universal conceptualization. If universal conceptualization also has no place, then afflictions are not material, so they cannot exist as something that relies and something that is relied upon. However, by nature, all sentient beings are only imprisoned in this prison, and due to ignorance and other causes, one's own limits cannot be known by oneself, how can one expect to liberate other beings from it, relieve their suffering, and the steadfastness of salvation will not diminish? In particular, sentient beings, due to bad deeds, now think that they can never do anything for them at any time, and thus generate a peaceful mind, which is the limit of abandonment. Therefore, as an antidote to this, on the ground of being endowed with mindfulness and awareness, the sprout of bodhicitta is easy to grow, so one should diligently guard it without diminishing, purify defilements, and strive to propagate it. Thus connecting, being mindful, and continuously possessing awareness is like the earth, from that basis, grasping the seed of bodhicitta, and growing sprouts.
