Moreover, those great masters who are known throughout Tibet and China for realizing the meaning lineage do not even consider it to be a trace of Je Tsongkhapa's view. Therefore, to say that the view of Dzogchen is Cittamatra, and to denigrate the ordinary awareness that is known in common to Mahamudra and Dzogchen, as if the jaundice of biased attachment has robbed the radiance of discernment, causing the color of a conch shell to appear yellow, is devoid of any understanding. Secondly, there are two aspects to the definitive meaning of Great Madhyamaka: Svatantrika and Prasangika. The first is: distinguishing between correct conventional truth and incorrect conventional truth, thereby eliminating the defilement of dualistic dharmas. The second, the Madhyamaka Prasangika, says: Because I have no assertions, I am without fault. Thus, it is proclaimed that all phenomena are without inherent existence, not established from their own side, not established by their own characteristics, and not established as the nature of anything. As it says in the homage of the Root Verses on the Middle Way: Whatever arises dependently, is without cessation, without arising, without annihilation, without permanence, without coming, without going, not different, not the same. Thus, it establishes the freedom from the eight extremes of elaboration. Moreover, when our Teacher demonstrated the attainment of enlightenment, he said: Profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, uncompounded dharma. And so forth, this is the intent of the verses spoken. In our own system, the Omniscient Great One also said: The way of abiding in the view is the same as Prasangika. If one turns inward and meditates, it is not merely the scope of the explanatory tantras, but the primordially pure, without mental fabrication, in which the way of abiding free from elaboration (p. 11) is perversely established. Due to its influence, the establishment of the three great views, like a hundred rivers converging into one, is of one intention here. However, because of a lack of the wealth of learning, some who have not grasped the essential points of the tenets, use the experience of shamatha-vipashyana as a religious term, saying that there is no choice in the three great views, like worldly dharmas. In the teachings of Nagarjuna, the secret of special significance is treated as if there were no instructions, which is turning one's back on the Vajrayana teachings. Why is this? Because it is consistent to establish all views in the state of freedom from the eight extremes of elaboration. And in the depths of the intention, there is no view more sublime than freedom from elaboration.

Even now that it is accomplished, there are very different distinctions in how the Sutra and Tantra approach the understanding of non-duality. For example, in the Sutra path, by determining the extremes of existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, solely through knowable objects, and abiding in emptiness, which is the basis of Madhyamaka, the practice of shamatha (calm abiding) and vipassanā (insight) are distinguished as separate categories, and by abandoning and transforming conceptual thoughts and afflictions, the three are taken as the path, and one travels the path of the stages for a long time. Therefore, the meditative practice of a Paṇḍita is defined as emptiness viewed from external and internal perspectives. The Mantrayana practitioners, on the other hand, primarily emphasize the union of the two stages (generation and completion). Furthermore, the essence of their view lies in abiding in the natural state of reality, without altering or adjusting the naturally existing, non-dual, and spontaneously accomplished key points with conceptual thoughts and intellectual constructs, but rather focusing on the Kusāli's practice of calm abiding. This is the distinction between them. So, wouldn't it follow that there is no difference between Mahāmudrā and Dzogchen? Although some assert this, it is merely a confusion of the mind. Therefore, the sole eye of the world, the great Fifth Omniscient One, said: "For those who have studied the essential points of the teachings and treasures of Garab Dorje, Shri Singha, Buddhahira, Vimalamitra, Vairocana, Sogyal, Nubchen, Nyang, and others (twelve in total), but whose knowledge is shallow and who are arrogant, without distinguishing Mahāmudrā and Dzogchen, they mix practices and accumulate many similar dharmas." Therefore, to distinguish them roughly, Mahāmudrā mainly involves sealing the conditioned with the nature of reality, transforming appearances and awareness into indivisible luminosity and emptiness. Dzogchen, on the other hand, involves all conditioned phenomena appearing as the play of the nature of reality, the mind of enlightenment, like illusions. However, from the perspective of emptiness, since the nature is free from all extremes of elaboration, transcending artificial constructs and the realm of thought, liberation and bondage are naturally perfected within the primordially pure expanse of reality, without the need for alteration or adjustment. This is the distinction between them. However, most Tibetan scholars who engage in study and contemplation have not accepted this explanation. They say that the difference between Sutra and Tantra lies only in the difference of methods, and there is no difference in terms of samādhi. However, the Glorious Chakrasamvara Secret Inconceivable Tantra states: 'The Hearers and other Lesser Vehicles do not have oral instructions.' 'View, conduct, mind-holding, cause, path, and result, time, enjoyment, yoga, self-benefit, other-benefit and need, weariness, abandoning extremes, little effort, accumulation.'
