The attainment of fruition is achieved through the cultivation of the earth element. Continuing from the previous section, the second is the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, which, based on the realization that the skandhas and so forth are without inherent existence, cultivates the twelve links of dependent origination in both forward and reverse order, with external objects of perception appearing but without attachment, like a reflection of the moon in water. Through this, afflictions are naturally liberated, and the fruition of a Pratyekabuddha is realized. Both of these practices cultivate the training in higher discipline and familiarize oneself with the aggregates of concentration, thus teaching both the Vinaya and Sutra Vehicles. As it is said, Pratyekabuddhas exist in two forms: those who are like rhinoceros horns and those who dwell in sanghas. One meditates on the lack of inherent existence of all external objects through the selflessness of perceived phenomena. One meditates on the emptiness of the knowing consciousness, which is the agent of grasping (8), being free from the three characteristics of arising, abiding, and ceasing, through the selflessness of the perceiving subject. The selflessness of both the perceived and the perceiver is spoken of in their respective ways, and the latter is the realization of the Great Vehicle. The third is the Bodhisattva Vehicle, which continues from the previous section, realizing that all phenomena are without inherent existence. The fundamental cause for engaging in vast activities for the benefit of others with great compassion is the principle of the two truths. Among these, those that are certain to be unfailing in cause and effect, possess characteristics, and are capable of appearing as objects of consciousness are the conventional truths. In the commentary on the Uttaratantra, it is said: 'All path truths are conditioned; all conditioned things are conventional.' And, the wisdom that accords with emptiness, which is the naturally abiding nature of phenomena, and possesses the aspect of completely pacifying elaboration, is the ultimate truth. In the Two Truths, it is said: 'For that which is unborn and pacifies all elaboration, the term 'ultimate' is used.' As it is said, since all phenomena are not hidden and one has mastery over various samadhis, it is the Abhidhamma Pitaka, as it is summarized and taught. Some who examine scriptures criticize the view of Dzogchen, claiming that it is the same as the view of Madhyamaka and Cittamatra, using empty words. Chika, my friend, do not rely on rough, speculative words to denigrate the pinnacle of the vehicles. The tenets of the four schools of thought spoken of in the lower vehicles are also found in the great treatises of Dzogchen.

Having settled in these places, mainly in this land of snow, because he reached the other shore of self and other doctrines like the ocean, he is as famous as the sun and moon. The teachings of the Omniscient Longchen Rabjam are slowly reviewed: Root "Resting the Mind Itself", Commentary "Great Chariot", Root "Resting the Basic Nature", Commentary "Excellent Chariot" (9), Root "Resting Illusion", Commentary "Good Chariot", etc. The Wish-Fulfilling Treasury, Instructions, Doctrines, The Supreme Vehicle Meaning Collection or Clear Light, Reality, The Treasury of Dharmata, these seven. The three root commentaries and the seven treasures can be understood. Kusulu and others can also investigate. First, the Hinayana has two: Vaibhashika and Sautrantika. The former believes that external appearances are real. The latter believes that all external appearances are composed of extremely small particles. The Mahayana has two: the Mind-Only School and the Middle Way School. The former has two: the Mind-Only True Appearance and the Mind-Only False Appearance. In this regard, the sutra says: "Yogis are also refuted by higher and higher views due to the difference in wisdom." As it is said, the Mind-Only True Appearance argues to the Sutra School in this way: You believe that external appearances are composed of extremely small particles, which is unreasonable. Because even an indivisible atom is divided into four directions, eight corners, upper and lower two, and ten parts, so the indivisible atom is not established. After saying this, one's own view is established in this way: all appearances are considered to be true in the mind, and all external appearances are appearances of the mind's delusion, and do not exist externally, just as appearances in a dream do not exist. In this way, they acknowledge appearances as the mind and worship the root of the mind. The Mind-Only False Appearance believes that external objects do not exist, nor does the consciousness that grasps them exist. The awareness that realizes the non-duality of the grasped and the grasper, self-awareness and self-illumination, is considered to be true. This is the Alaya consciousness, and on top of this, cause and effect are acknowledged. It is bound by antidotes and has not been able to break away from the four extremes of elaboration. (10) However, this is like most ordinary practitioners today, clinging to the idea that everything is the mind, wanting to practice this kind of consciousness, which seems to be a blind person who has not attained the accomplishment of the doctrine.
