All of these are meant to indicate what is shown in the Kunjudu Rigpai Do (All-Encompassing Wisdom Sutra) and other sutras. Furthermore, in the Namjom (Destroyer), it says, "By the glory of this sutra..." and so on. Lawawa calls it the Sutra of Reasoning. Similarly, as Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti have said, in the Mother Tantra, there is also the term Sherabkyi Do (Prajna Sutra), so Arya Deva also divided it into the fourth pitaka, the Vidyadhara Pitaka. The detailed explanation of these principles, along with the elimination of misconceptions, has been recorded in the realization statement of the Gyud Bum Rinpoche (Precious Garland of Tantras). Among them, regarding the way to explain the general characteristics and features of Secret Mantra: From the perspective of continuity, it is the Tantra of the Ground, Path, and Fruition; relying on the two stages, it is the connection of skillful means and wisdom; through the power of asceticism, the gateway for people to enter is widened; relying on sharp faculties, swift accomplishment through strict asceticism. Having said that, first, the word "Tantra" is tantra prasānata (Sanskrit), meaning that the mantra tantras, etc., perform subtle actions such as pacification, and the rituals for accomplishing great common siddhis such as clairvoyance and magical powers, and the differences in the rituals for accomplishing the perfect enlightenment of non-abiding nirvana, with the root and near-root essences, etc., and the various connections of the tantric object rituals such as mandalas, mudras, offerings, fire offerings, activities, and asceticism, etc., are also called tantras. These are the general names of the tantras, while the special names come from the latter part of the Compendium Tantra: The causes of the faculties and objects, whatever arises in the mind, the mind is called mana (Sanskrit), and tra means to protect. Liberation from worldly conduct, whatever is said is the vow and samaya, the protection of all vajras is said to be the practice of mantra. It is said that. mandalā mana (Sanskrit) is the mind, and tra is protection, therefore it is called mantra, or other names, the words mana and tra themselves are led to wisdom and compassion, etc., symbolizing non-attachment to any one side, it should be known. Thus, the meaning of the word "secret" prefixed to the mantra is that it refers to what is difficult to understand and incomprehensible, it is of all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future...

Because its meaning is profound, it is difficult for the uninitiated and untrained to understand, hence it is secret. Also, because it is not the realm of practice for worldly people and those of lower vehicles, it should be kept secret, and accomplishment is achieved by concealing it, therefore it is also secret. From the perspective of the meaning of the name, it is continuous because it becomes the cause of all of samsara and nirvana. As stated in the Vajrasekhara Sutra: "Continuity is said to be continuous, samsara is considered as continuity, nirvana is the subsequent continuity." If we differentiate, from the perspective of meaning and words, there is a way of entering into six things. For example, from the perspective of meaning, the so-called "ground continuity" refers to the element, the Tathagatagarbha. The so-called "path continuity" refers to the extensive objects of learning that are skillful in means, such as mantras, mudras, samadhi, and so on. The so-called "fruit continuity" refers to the two types of accomplishments, supreme and common, and because they are related to the continuity to be accomplished in the manner of cause, condition, and result, continuity is established as the meaning of connection. From the perspective of words, it refers to the characteristic of appearing as sound just spoken, and the cause that is equal to one's own merit, that is, the characteristic that is known as the words of names. And the texts that belong to its image or symbol, etc., these are the six objects of naming. Furthermore, although the two great vehicles of cause and effect do not have superior or inferior distinctions in obtaining the result, and their meaning is the same. However, in the method of practicing the path, there are endless differences between ignorance and non-ignorance. For example, if the main meaning that both vehicles commonly desire is benefiting others, then the activity of the Buddha, who directly appears to those to be tamed and accomplishes their benefit, although the Dharmakaya of peace does not directly perform it, due to its cause, that is, the power of past compassion and aspiration, without discrimination or effort, the two forms of the Rupakaya are naturally accomplished. And the cause of accomplishing this is the Dharmakaya through the wisdom of profound realization, and relying on the profound generation stage yoga that is not possessed by the vast means of the Paramitas, abiding in the pride of the Buddha with marks and signs, the Rupakaya is quickly accomplished in one lifetime, etc. Therefore, these two are also the generation and completion two stages of the self-nature complete wisdom that is inseparable from means and wisdom.
