Action should be taken immediately, because the Buddha's discipline is essentially something that must be abandoned. That is to say, the causes of falling are: lack of reason, small compassion, not fearing the suffering of samsara, being controlled by evil friends, thinking that great Bodhi is far away, being blessed by demons, relying on inferior individuals, devoting oneself to the treatises of the Lesser Vehicle, abandoning sentient beings, speaking evil words to Bodhisattvas and generating evil thoughts, not abandoning aspects that are incompatible with Bodhicitta, as well as ignorance, carelessness, disrespect, and many afflictions. As the Bengali yogi believes, afflictions are the root of everything, so treat them like enemies. For any small cause and effect of harm, those who hide anger and pride extremely, would rather endure the punishment of swords than retreat before achieving their goal. Then, for the powerful afflictions that have become my enemies in every way, fight with them, and if you do not eliminate hatred, how can you fulfill the vow to protect the precepts? In the world, for small causes of harm, such as touching the boundary of a field, and small results, such as a drop of water, one is extremely intolerant, so one becomes angry, experiences a mind like a poisonous snake, and engages in mutual fighting. Until one has attained the state of victory, even if one suffers great wounds from various weapons such as swords, one does not mind and does not retreat from battle. Then, for the enemy of afflictions that leads sentient beings to hell, animals, and the world of Yama in every way and in all aspects, it is powerful and has many troops, and its nature will bring suffering, one should fight it with powerful antidotes, without懈怠, without retreating, and destroy it like revenge. As the Bodhicaryāvatāra says: When destroying afflictions in this way, one should never turn back. To this, I should be attached and hold a grudge in my heart, and fight with it. Such afflictions, there is nothing else but to destroy afflictions. Me.
