Having previously made excellent aspirations and accumulated merit, you possess the four great wheels. As the last line indicates, the king's enjoyment of happiness is also a vessel for the noble path. Now, in order to extensively differentiate its nature, in the midst of gatherings, like poisonous food, the transformations of environment and conditions are extremely fierce. Withdrawing from that, one delights in solitude and tranquility, not clinging to gains, like the wind and the sky. For example, in royal palaces, cities, towns, or villages, or even in monasteries used in degenerate times, in places where many gather, due to enemies and friends, love and hatred, bias, strife, commerce, agriculture, noise, fame and gain, distraction, jealousy, competition, pride in glory, accumulation, protection, and development, etc., the transformations that arise from encountering conditions close to the environment are deluded by the three poisons of greed, hatred, and ignorance, and are complete with the cause of afflictions. As Vasubandhu said: If subtle attachments are not abandoned, and the environment is near, and there is improper attention, then the cause of afflictions is complete. Like the monk Bhadra, who was very firm in his intention to protect his vows, when his wife slept in front of him, he sternly said: I am protecting my vows, do not stay here! But the wife did not listen. Even if the vow is firm, it is still conditioned, and the poison of the environment is powerful, so what can be done? Attachment arose, and he ended up having relations with his wife. Therefore, even if one has entered the door of the teachings and has a firm intention of renunciation and protecting vows, when encountering various environmental conditions, the cause of the arising of vows, samadhi, and wisdom, and all virtues, will be lost. Like this, taking the environment as a permanent dwelling, clinging to land and territory, regarding the dwelling as the most beloved, engaging in large household affairs after abandoning the small family, seeing wealth as precious, even competing with powerful patrons for horse fodder, wasting faith offerings and offerings for the dead solely for the sake of gain, is not a good behavior. The sutra says: Maitreya, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva towards gain and respec

It should be known that respect is for generating desire. It should be observed that gain and respect are evil and destructive. Gain and respect completely abandon meditation and immeasurable minds, and cause beings to fall into hell, the animal realm, and the world of Yama. As it is said in the scriptures, "One should have few desires and not be completely tormented." Therefore, not being attached to gain is like the wind in the sky; not clinging to dwelling and livelihood is like a bird flying in the sky, one should practice the path of peace: keep away from crowds and be extremely devoted to peace. Like the wind in the sky, do not be attached to gain; like a wild animal, wander alone without fear. Such a person is a true Dharma holder. Again: Living in solitude like a wild animal will not be disturbed by frivolous behavior. If one relies on a place, one will protect the faces of others, and the courage of jealousy and patience will be diminished. Therefore, a secluded place or a sacred forest is a place where natural behavior is extremely gentle and peaceful, and cannot be disturbed by hundreds of faults of busyness and frivolous flattery. If one stays in one place, one will be oppressed by taxes and duties for relying on it, or one will have to look at other people's faces in order to protect oneself and obtain perfection. Even if one becomes famous for practicing the Dharma, or becomes rich due to causes that are in harmony with one's nature, the discriminations of beings in the degenerate age are extremely unruly, and when one sees them repeatedly tormenting oneself with various disobedient behaviors, our endurance will also be weakened. Therefore, the Buddhas and Buddha-sons praise only the virtues of forests and monasteries. As it is said in the Sutra of the Moon Lamp, "Having renounced, no matter how one practices the Dharma, one will not serve and honor the most excellent Victor with food, drink, clothing, flowers, incense, and garlands. If someone desires to attain perfect enlightenment for the sake of sentient beings who are weary of samsara, and turns towards a monastery and abandons seven steps away, this is more excellent in merit than the former." Therefore.
