The way of completion from the perspective of accumulation: The Mind-Only school believes that cause and effect are completed in two lifetimes in one cycle. In the previous life, ignorance, action, consciousness, craving, grasping, and existence, these six causes are completed. In this life, the remaining six are completed as the result. These are internal dependent origination. External dependent origination, taking the sprouting of seedlings from seeds as an example, illustrates that all of samsara and nirvana are established as the nature of dependent origination. Therefore, this is the precious teaching of the Tathagata, and whoever understands this will correctly understand the teacher's doctrine. This is a teaching that is in accordance with common scriptures. As it is said in the sutra: Monks, whoever understands the sapling of the Sal tree understands dependent origination; whoever understands dependent origination understands the Dharma; whoever understands the Dharma understands the Buddha. It is like this. Even so, these inferior paths are only stepping stones to the Mahayana. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Kashyapa: The emptiness they understand is like the inner space of a mustard seed eaten by insects. Also, as it is said in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: Those who wish to attain nirvana in the Hearer's stage should also study the Prajnaparamita. Therefore, in order to explain that the state of nirvana can be attained through the path of the ultimately established great perfection of unborn Dharma nature. Although it is so, the conditioned actions of existence, the high and low karma, the white and black cause and effect, the Dharma, the reality of surpassing all peace and sublimity, arise from the realization of the unborn Dharma nature. Thus, the main cause of conditioned existence in samsara is the karma arising from ignorance, which leads beings to various high and low realms from the peak of existence to the Avici hell. These are also merely conceptual constructs of inferior minds, and the Dharma nature that is not actually established arises from not realizing the great peace and unborn nature. As it is said in the Pramanavarttika: The unerring vision of the all-knowing one is only to understand that it does not exist at all times. Therefore, here it explains the way to reverse its nature. Among the Four Noble Truths, the truth of suffering is also the appearance of clinging to something that does not exist as existing.

So, this is the illusory appearance of dependent origination. Nagarjuna argues that if there were no dependent origination, where would suffering be? The impermanence and suffering that are spoken of are not inherent in their own nature. Therefore, those who have realized the ultimate truth do not wish to posit (self-)nature as the cause. Similarly, regarding the origin of suffering (samudaya), for example, in the case of taking what is not given, the object to be taken can be divided into the three times: past, present, and future. If we examine the contact and differentiate between the prior and subsequent moments, the time of stealing ceases, and thus the object itself cannot be established. This is because the object of stealing and the consciousness of the thief, etc., continue in a series of moments, thus forming a continuous process. If the prior and subsequent moments do not come into contact, the act of stealing will not occur. For example, when saying "Kailasha," the three moments of the letters are connected in a sequential manner, thus forming the name of the snow mountain. If they are not connected, it cannot be formed. Therefore, the Root Verses state: "If it does not exist from its own nature, what will arise everywhere? Therefore, for the one who harms emptiness, the origin of suffering does not exist." Thus it is said. Regarding cessation (nirodha), since both suffering and its origin are negated as being without inherent nature, when these two cease, cessation is also negated. If there is no object to be negated, there is no cessation, just as there is no need for medicine when there is no illness. As stated earlier: "If suffering exists by its own nature, then cessation is not reasonable." Thus it is said. Regarding the negation of the path (marga): If the path is cultivated as the antidote to afflictions, is it cultivated simultaneously with the afflictions or separately? If cultivated simultaneously, then within the same continuum, the object to be abandoned and the antidote are contradictory substances. If cultivated separately, just as a lamp being produced does not dispel darkness, the antidote to the arising afflictions cannot overcome the afflictions. As stated earlier: "When a lamp is being produced, it does not encounter darkness. How can a lamp being produced dispel darkness? Even if the lamp does not encounter it, if it dispels darkness, then the one existing here would dispel it." Thus it is said. The object to be abandoned on the path and the indivisible particles, even if the prior and subsequent moments do not come into contact, cannot be established. For example, when saying "Sa-ra-ha," does the letter "ra" come into contact with the preceding and following letters simultaneously or successively? If it comes into contact simultaneously, then it is a thing of the three times.
