Elephant. Yontan Ö. Lodrö Tenpa. The four noble liberation groups are known as the four masters who excelled in their respective fields of Pramana, Vinaya, Abhidharma, and Prajnaparamita. From the disciple of Nagarjuna, Gesung, arose Lekdenjé and Sangye Kyang, who newly divided the traditions of Svatantrika and Prasangika. The disciple of Sangye Kyang, Kamalabuddhi's disciple Chandrakirti, proclaimed the sound of Prasangika in the ten directions. At this time, the Upasaka Chandracharana also appeared, who was a disciple of the teacher Lodrö Tenpa. Chandrakirti and the Nalanda debated for seven years, and the teachers each held the treatises of Nagarjuna and Asanga. Later, it is said that he went to Potala. The disciples of the teacher Dignaga and others, there appeared the Khenpo Dharmapala of Nalanda. He composed many treatises, including the commentary on the "Four Hundred Verses" of Madhyamaka as Vijnaptimatrata. His disciples were the great teacher Shantideva, who possessed the conduct of Bhusuku, and the auspicious Dharmapala, who was later known as Virupa. From the disciple of Dignaga, the opponent Ishvarasena, he obtained Pramana, and from the teacher Dharmapala, he received the nectar of the three pitakas, and the auspicious Dharmakirti became the second Dignaga. From the auspicious Heruka, he obtained the accomplishment of overcoming the four maras. Thus, Nagarjuna, Asanga, and Dignaga are the authors of the treatises, and Aryadeva, Vasubandhu, and Dharmakirti are the commentators, known as the six ornaments that adorn the world. The terms "Supreme Two" and others are not common in India. After that, Namnang Zangpo heard the Prajnaparamita from Namnang Bodhi, and was blessed by Anavatapta, becoming the teacher Simhabhadra, and his disciples Buddhajñanapada and others propagated the Prajnaparamita, and the disciples of Yontan Ö, Shakya Ö, Dharmamitra, and Arhat Saga Deva and others propagated the Vinaya teachings. In general, there are said to be six spiritual friends for Vinaya, and six recipients of the teachings for Prajnaparamita. Later, in Vikramashila, there appeared six scholars like the sun and moon, namely Shantipa, Shar, Sherjung Bebé, Ngawang Drakpa, Naropa, Jang, Brahmin Ratnavajra, and Central Jñanashrimitra. After that was Jowoje Dipamkara, and then in Vajrasana there was Aྷ་ཡ་ཀ་ར། The Mahāpaṇḍita Śākyaśrī and others upheld the teachings. At that time, the Turkish king Chandra arrived with a large army and destroyed most of the temples in the central region. The wise and accomplished masters also wandered to other places, and although the foundation of the teachings declined, some small states established some Dharma foundations, and Paṇḍita Tārula Śrī Bhadra, Śāriputra, and Rāhula Bhadra and others did what they could to serve the teachings. But nowadays, it seems that there is no Buddhist teaching in the central region. Although a detailed description of how the various small states of India flourished would make the text cumbersome, Buddhism has existed in the east of the holy land of India, and in the northeast, Kham, and Vittanagara, etc., since ancient times. Magadha and other places were affected by the decline of the teachings. The newly restored tradition is said to still exist today, mainly adhering to the Mahāyāna Buddhist system. In the island of Simhala and the island of Dhanaśrī, etc., the Śrāvakayāna seems to be very popular. Secondly, the two Kriyā and Caryā tantras were taught by the Teacher to human beings, and the lineage taught to yakshas and others. From that time onwards, many fortunate ones in the holy land of India have maintained the unbroken lineage of mantra accomplishment. Later, the Mahāyāna began to flourish and became very prosperous. At that time, both inner and outer yoga seemed to appear only occasionally and did not form a continuous lineage. Later, it flourished from the time of the Brahmin Rāhula. Also, the Teacher himself taught the Guhyasamāja to King Indrabhūti of Oḍḍiyāna, and the secret Lord Candrabhadra of Shambhala taught all the tantras, including the Kālacakra. It is said that he also taught King Rabsaicandra of eastern India the tantra of the three sacred places taught by the glorious secret lord, and all the yoga tantras. About three hundred years after the Teacher's passing, the glorious Saraha appeared and received prophecies from the Secret Lord. The human guru also relied on the teacher Nirvikalpa, and in Oḍḍiyāna, he was taken care of by the yogini who transformed from a nāga, and relied on Visukalpa and others. The tantra of the Buddha's skull was invited from Oḍḍiyāna. He took care of the teacher Nāgārjuna. At first, the Mahāyāna flourished.
