After bathing playfully, enter the temple and take your respective seats. After the flower offering ceremony is completed, the teacher will lead the preliminary practices such as generating the mind of enlightenment. Here, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, in order to suit the different capacities of sentient beings, have spoken of inconceivable nectar-like Dharma. In summary, it can be categorized into the two vehicles of the Great and Small, and here it is the Great Vehicle. The Great Vehicle is further divided into the two vehicles of cause and effect, and here it is the fruition vehicle, the Secret Mantra Vajrayana. This Vajrayana is further divided into four classes of tantras, and here it is the Action Tantra. This Action Tantra is further divided into the Sutra class and the Performance class, and here it is within the Sutra class. Specifically, it is the Essence of Dependent Origination Dharani. Following the detailed ritual, the unparalleled great lord of yoga, the jewel on the crown of the wise, the glorious Virupa, has well explained it. The complete teaching of the lord of the snowy land of Tibet, the profound ritual of the blessing of protection of the Essence of Dependent Origination, which was bestowed upon the venerable Sakya fathers and sons. First, briefly explain the origin and meaning of the text of this dharani. In the past, our teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, in the joyful garden of the thirty-three gods, together with the great Shravakas of peaceful conduct, such as Mahakashyapa, and the bodhisattvas such as the noble Maitreya and Avalokiteshvara, as well as the world protectors such as Brahma and the son of Non-Extinction, when they were dwelling together, the great bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, with compassion, contemplated the world including the gods, and in order to increase the accumulation of merit immeasurably, requested this dharani with boundless blessings and benefits. The teacher also gladly agreed and proclaimed the ritual of building stupas. The mantra of this dharani, in the Sanskrit language of the gods, is "ye dharma," etc., translated into Tibetan as: "All phenomena arise from causes; the Tathagata has declared the cause; and whatever is their cessation; the great Shramana has spoken thus."

The essence of all the Buddha's scriptures is the teaching of the Four Noble Truths. According to the Hearers' Vehicle (Śrāvakayāna), the Truth of Suffering (duḥkha satya) refers to the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and pervasive suffering of conditioned existence, all of which are related to the five aggregates of clinging in the three realms. The Truth of Origin (samudaya satya) refers to actions (karma) and afflictions (kleśa) that arise from the belief in a personal self (pudgala-ātman), which are the proximate causes for the arising of suffering. The Truth of Cessation (nirodha satya) refers to the state of liberation from the aforementioned suffering and its causes, which is the state of Nirvāṇa with remainder (sopadhiśeṣa-nirvāṇa) and Nirvāṇa without remainder (nirupadhiśeṣa-nirvāṇa). The Truth of the Path (mārga satya) refers to the absence of a personal self (pudgala-nairātmya) and its retinue, which is the cause for abandoning the Truth of Origin. According to the Great Vehicle (Mahāyāna) Perfection of Wisdom (Prajñāpāramitā), the Truth of Suffering primarily refers to the subtle Truth of Suffering in the minds of Hearers, Solitary Realizers (Pratyekabuddhas), Arhats, and Mahāyāna practitioners. The Truth of Origin refers to the subtle obscurations of knowledge (jñeyāvaraṇa) that are the proximate causes of these subtle sufferings, characterized by focusing on phenomena. The Truth of Cessation refers to Nirvāṇa that transcends the two extremes. The Truth of the Path refers to the two types of selflessness (dvaya-nairātmya) and their retinue. According to the Vajra Vehicle (Vajrayāna), in the context of the lower Tantras, the other Truths are mostly in accordance with the common Mahāyāna, while the Truth of the Path is distinguished by the stages of profound methods, thus surpassing in stages and swiftly uniting with the result. In the Unsurpassed Great Yoga (Anuttarayoga Tantra), the Truth of Suffering refers to ordinary appearance clinging and the conceptualization of clinging to the sublime deity. The Truth of Origin refers to the imprints of transference. The Truth of the Path refers to the wisdom arising from the profound methods of maturation and liberation. The Truth of Cessation refers to the state of union possessing seven features. Therefore, this single verse clearly expresses all the topics of the Sutras and Tantras, both directly and implicitly. As it is said: 'This dependent arising is the Dharmakāya of the Tathāgatas; whoever sees dependent arising sees the Tathāgata.' Furthermore, there are the Four Truths common to the Hearers and the dependent
