The two views are: As stated in the Abhidharmakośa, "That which can be broken and measured by wisdom, and if removed, wisdom does not accept it, like water in a vase, is conventionally existent, but the ultimate is different." This means that substances with the characteristic of being able to be broken, such as vases, and the qualities of limbs such as form, if separated one by one by the wisdom of discriminating awareness, wisdom does not accept them, like water in a vase. Although it is admitted that both exist in temporary terms, becoming true because of existence is like conventional truth. That which cannot be broken, cannot be divided into different limbs, and cannot be destroyed or removed, such as subtle particles, indivisible consciousness, and space, independently produces, which is considered to be the nature of ultimate truth. The second view is that it is not appropriate to rely mainly on treatises, because there are also errors in treatises, and respect for the speaker, the Buddha, will be weakened, and the treatises themselves rely on the sutras. And "all non-compounded dharmas are not substantial, because they are not produced by conditions." Mila and others refuted the previous wrong view, following their own Hinayana sutra tenets. This is largely in line with the Vaibhashika view that things are substantially existent. However, although they consider form, mind, and mental factors to be substantially existent, they do not consider non-associated formations and non-compounded bases to be substantially existent. Furthermore, even coarse form continuums and consciousness continuums are not truly existent. Non-intellectual forms and the three times are considered to be merely nominally existent. The eye does not see forms, etc., and although eye consciousness sees forms, the appearance of the form in eye consciousness itself, and the experience of it, is called seeing, but it is not actually seeing, they consider this to be a distinction. The second view is that the way to practice the path of both views is to divide the Four Noble Truths into sixteen aspects. These are the Four Noble Truths: the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path. Among these, the first, the truth of suffering, is divided into four: all conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all contaminated things are suffering, all phenomena are empty, and nirvana is peace. Similarly, the second, the truth of origin, is also the cause because it is the seed of all things, and it is the origin because it comes in the manner of arising from it.

It arises completely through connection, and serves as a condition with the meaning of manifest accomplishment. Third, it is cessation because the aggregates disintegrate, it is peaceful because the three poisons are pacified, it is abundant because there is no harm, and it is definite departure because it transcends all faults. Fourth, it is the path because it is the path to be traveled, it is reasoning because it is reasonable, it is accomplishment because it truly accomplishes, and it is definite departure because it truly transcends, that is, contemplating those sixteen aspects. It shows that both afflictive and non-afflictive ignorance are to be abandoned. As the Treasury of Knowledge says: The truths are explained as four, suffering, its origin, cessation, and the path. How are these realized in order? As shown by these and other similar statements. Third, one takes any of the seven classes of individual liberation vows with the thought of peace and happiness, abandons all collections of misdeeds, and practices the corresponding discipline well, thereby making samadhi workable. That is, one who abides in discipline, possesses hearing and thought, diligently applies oneself to meditation, and has such qualities. Fourth, they accept the five paths of the Hearers' own ground, such as the path of accumulation, and divide the four, Stream-enterer, Once-returner, Non-returner, and Arhat, into those who have entered and those who abide, thus considering them as four pairs or eight types of persons. That is, through the power of meditating by dividing the four truths into sixteen aspects, they directly realize the selflessness of persons, and rely on the samadhi that is like a vajra on the path of meditation, thereby completely destroying afflictions along with their imprints, and therefore believe that the Arhat fruit can be obtained. Second, for the vehicle of the Pratyekabuddhas, there are also four. First, the view is that although the Hearers acknowledge the realization of the selflessness of persons, they consider the indivisible particles of the object of grasping to be ultimately true. Therefore, this path also realizes the non-existence of external objects. Thus, it excels by realizing half of the selflessness of persons on top of the previous view. However, because it does not realize the non-existence of the nature of the grasping mind, it is considered to have realized one and a half selflessness of persons. As the Ornament of Sutras says: Because of abandoning the thought of the object of grasping, and because of not abandoning the grasping, the path like a rhinoceros horn with its basis is the correct collection.
