Should not be regarded as pure. In all the Yoga Tantras, Vajrasattva said, for the sake of the yogi's mind and happiness, it is not the ultimate reality. Thus it is said. Eighth chapter, on the increase of the accumulation of merit and wisdom: Therefore, the yogi of skillful means and wisdom, being the one friend of all sentient beings, should from then on cultivate stability with a mind that never deceives. By doing this, the complete Buddha will be pleased, and all those with a nature of joy will be pleased. Thus it is said. The yogi who abides on this path, like the waxing moon, will gradually increase and never diminish. Thus it is said. Ninth chapter, on fully understanding the arising and destruction of merit and sin: How the sins that are confessed, even the most unbearable, will be exhausted, and following that with rejoicing, how merit will be perfectly completed. Thus it is said. Without mind, neither body nor speech can do anything. Without it, even words can never be effective. Therefore, the actions of body and speech all arise from the mind itself. Thus it is said. Therefore, all good and non-good are done by the mind itself, and destroyed by the mind itself, as said by the teacher of beings. Thus it is said. Tenth chapter, on liberation from the concepts of purity and impurity: The falling rain washes away all defilements, grows all grains, and then flows into the ocean. Water filled with impurities is also taken from the water, and whatever water it is, all falls as rain in the same way. All ponds and so on increase, and all wash away all. Thus it is said. If there is purity, then impurity will arise. Impurity without purity cannot be found in any way. Thus it is said. Eleventh chapter, on being separated from going and not going: Thus abiding in samsara, entering for a long time, there is no sentient being who has not been father and mother. Thus it is said. Twelfth chapter, named abiding and abandoning: From true wisdom and awareness, the body of the pervasive lord Vajra can be accomplished, as well as the nature of immutability, and the nature of omniscience. Thus it is said. Body

All those who possess the earth, although they are the great abode of wisdom, yet those who are obscured by the darkness of ignorance, foolish children do not know. Thus it is said. The thirteenth chapter, "The Characteristics of the Teacher," says: Like a blind man who enters a desolate hermitage, how can such a one enter a city? Likewise, that blind one, not having seen the true wisdom, if he cannot attain that place, how can he liberate others? Therefore, the disciple who relies on the teacher, possessing truth, should examine well, as the Victorious One has well declared. Naturally having faith in the Three Jewels, having compassion for all sentient beings, possessing steadfastness, generosity, and other qualities, greatly increasing all merits, truly generating the mind of enlightenment, possessing excellent intelligence and qualities, being without anger and greatly joyful, especially devoted to the profound Dharma, that is the excellent gift of Dharma, being without defilement and always joyful, that is one who always has few desires, this is the perfect accumulation of the two accumulations. That is what the teacher, the Buddha, and all the Vajra Holders have declared. Thus it is said. The fourteenth chapter, "The Characteristics of the Disciple," says: Just as someone who enters a boat, having learned well to hold the oars, will cross to the other shore of the great ocean, otherwise he will not cross to the other shore. Likewise, the teacher, the Three Jewels, also having faith in the mind of enlightenment, also having compassion for the world, this is said to be the boat. The wise teacher holds the oars, the boat is that which well shows everything, for those who cross to the other shore of samsara, Vajrasattva has declared. Without holding the oars, the boat also cannot cross to the other shore, although one has well understood all qualities, without a teacher one does not reach the end of existence. Thus it is said. And possessing wisdom and faith, being without anger and without deceit, adorned with qualities such as generosity, greatly joyful and possessing one's own diligence, always acting according to the teacher's command, without being asked, also with one's own intelligence, offering possessions and other things, according to one's ability and what one can, likewise offering food and bedding, etc., even if one is afflicted by contempt, one's mind does not become discouraged but endures, one who understands scripture and reason, is a disciple who possesses all qualities, the nature of non-discrimination.
