These should be known. Among them, Bodhisattvas make offerings to the Tathāgata or the Tathāgata's stupa with offerings and reverence for a long time. They make offerings with many objects, abundant objects, non-manifest objects, what they have done themselves, what others have done, with joy manifested from the depths of their hearts and with strong devotion, and they completely dedicate that root of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. This is called the extensive offering of a Bodhisattva. Among them, Bodhisattvas do the work for the Tathāgata or the Tathāgata's stupa with their own hands, without despising, without being careless, without being lazy, without letting others do it, doing it respectfully, not doing disrespectful things, not doing it with a distracted mind, not doing it with a mind completely defiled by afflictions, not doing it for the sake of obtaining offerings and reverence from great sentient beings such as kings who have extreme faith in the Buddha, and offering appropriate objects. Not using rouge to smear, not using ghee to wash, not using gugul incense, not using argha offerings, etc., and not using other inappropriate objects, this should be known as the six ways of offering of a Bodhisattva that are not defiled by afflictions. Making offerings of offerings and reverence, and not being defiled by afflictions, this is also the basis of the Bodhisattva's enjoyment, through a little practice, or other complete seeking, or those who have obtained freedom over resources, make offerings to the Tathāgata or the Tathāgata's stupa, among them, Bodhisattvas who have obtained freedom over resources manifest two bodies, three bodies, or even hundreds of thousands of millions of bodies, all these bodies prostrate to the Tathāgatas, and on each body they emanate a hundred arms, a thousand arms, or even more arms, all these arms use flowers that surpass the heavenly realm and are extremely fragrant to offer, and they visibly scatter these offerings on the Tathāgatas, body

All of them praise with exceedingly vast praises possessing the true qualities of the Thus-Gone Ones, and all those bodies offer to the Thus-Gone Ones arm ornaments, jewel-adorned earrings and bracelets, umbrellas, victory banners, and various kinds of supreme and abundant flags. Bodhisattvas who have obtained power over such suitable equipment make offerings with mastery over their own minds. Therefore, it is not necessary to hope for or seek the appearance of a Buddha. Why is that? Because in this way, having entered the irreversible stage, they travel without obstruction in all Buddha-fields. The enjoyments of a Bodhisattva are neither obtained by their own efforts nor found by seeking them from others. Even though Bodhisattvas do not have power over equipment, whatever offering they make to the Thus-Gone Ones, whether in Jambudvipa, the four continents, a thousandfold world, a two-thousandfold world, or a great three-thousandfold world, or in the limitless and boundless realms of the ten directions, all those small, medium, and large realms are filled by faithful Bodhisattvas with joy, happiness, and minds full of devotion to the vast, and they rejoice accordingly. That is to say, the small assembly of Bodhisattvas is entirely gathered by the great assembly of Bodhi, which is the immeasurable great offering to the Thus-Gone Ones. Therefore, Bodhisattvas should always strive continuously with mental ease and joy. Furthermore, Bodhisattvas, even for a short moment, cultivate a mind of loving-kindness towards all sentient beings, living creatures, and entities. They cultivate a mind endowed with compassion, endowed with joy, and endowed with equanimity. Similarly, they cultivate the perception of impermanence towards all conditioned phenomena, the perception of suffering towards sin, the perception of selflessness towards suffering, and the perception of benefit towards Nirvana. Likewise, they cultivate mindfulness of the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, and the Paramitas.

Similarly, even if one understands a small amount of forbearance towards all phenomena for just a moment, a brief moment, and comprehends one aspect of the Buddha, one can, with inexpressible benefits, have faith in suchness of own being, without conceptualization, and abide with a signless mind. Then, what need is there to mention the states above that, and even more so? Similarly, a Bodhisattva who fully protects the vows of moral conduct, strives in calm abiding, insight, and the dharmas of the path to enlightenment, and likewise strives correctly in the perfections and the objects of gathering, this belongs to the practice of a Bodhisattva. Therefore, it is the most excellent and unsurpassed offering to the Tathagata. Obtaining the former, the respectful offering, and all kinds of offerings, even one hundredth or one thousandth part of that offering does not come close, and even up to the extent of expansion, it does not come close. Therefore, it should be understood that these ten aspects are all the ways of offering to the Tathagata. Just as offering to the Tathagata, offering to the Dharma and offering to the Sangha should also be understood in a similar and appropriate manner. Therefore, the Bodhisattva who makes these ten kinds of offerings to the Three Jewels does so with six kinds of superior intentions focused on the Tathagata: the superior intention of the unsurpassed field of merit, the superior intention of unsurpassed benefit, the superior intention of being the best of all sentient beings, such as the footless and the two-legged, the superior intention of being as rare as the Udumbara flower, the superior intention of appearing alone in the three-thousand great thousand world realms, and the superior intention of showing all the perfect meanings of the world and beyond the world. If one makes offerings to the Tathagata, the Dharma of the Tathagata, or the Sangha with these six superior intentions, even a small offering will result in immeasurable fruits, what need is there to mention a large offering? Thus spoke the venerable Asanga. The supreme proponent of emptiness, the venerable Nagarjuna,
