Meditate with the thought that all happiness and virtue may ripen in this mother, and may this mother attain Buddhahood. Similarly, meditate individually on other relatives, sentient beings seen and heard, enemies who harm me, and suffering beings in the lower realms, etc. Finally, visualize that the suffering of all sentient beings gathers like a cloud into oneself, and that one's own happiness and virtue become the temporary enjoyment of whatever all sentient beings desire, and ultimately become the cause of attaining Buddhahood. This is the essence of the Mahayana practice, the secret word of all Buddhas of the three times, so one must meditate in this way. The reasons for this, the scriptural citations as evidence, and the resolution of doubts about the method of meditation should be explained in detail, but because it would be too lengthy, it is not elaborated upon. From generating the mind of Bodhicitta up to this point, the preliminary practices of taking refuge and generating the mind of Bodhicitta, as previously explained, are definitely necessary. In addition to that, it is also good to practice the Guru Yoga. At the end of all visualizations, seal it with dedication and aspiration prayers, and remember it in all activities of walking, standing, sitting, and lying down. **Separating from Attachment to the Four Extremes and Causing Illusion to Arise as Wisdom** Fourth, separating from attachment to the four extremes and causing illusion to arise as wisdom. According to the tradition of other instructions, there are the two practices of Shamatha (calm abiding) and Vipassana (insight). Within Vipassana, there are practices such as meditating on the selflessness of the person and meditating on the selflessness of phenomena. However, in this tradition, one meditates on three things: during meditative equipoise, one establishes appearances as mind, establishes mind as illusion, and establishes illusion as devoid of inherent existence. In the post-meditation period, there is the practice of viewing things as unattached illusions and like dreams. If one meditates on these without relying on the Guru's instructions, it is easy to make mistakes and it cannot be understood by mere words, so it is not elaborated upon here. However, what is immediately beneficial is that whatever virtuous roots one cultivates, it is important to avoid arrogance by thinking, 'I am the one who is doing good, these are the good deeds, therefore I have done these good deeds.' There is no fault in proclaiming 'I have done such good deeds' without arrogance in order to encourage others to do good. Therefore, when cultivating virtuous roots and engaging in worldly activities, if one remembers to think, 'Is this an illusion? Is this a dream?', it will become a cause for realizing the view, so mindfulness is very important. Thus, there are four stages in this path, and this is the first. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firstly, by striving for the benefit of future lives, turning the mind towards Dharma is called 'the mind turning to Dharma'. Secondly, by abandoning samsara and seeking the path to liberation, this is called 'the path turning to Dharma'. Thirdly, by abandoning the thought of the Lesser Vehicle and joining with the Great Vehicle, this is called 'eliminating wrong paths'. Fourthly, by abandoning all clinging to extremes and joining with the meaning of reality, this is called 'wrong paths appearing as wisdom'. Like this, practice the key points of the path, and in order to make temporary actions meaningful, perform prostrations and circumambulations; in order to make speech meaningful, praise the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and read profound sutras; in order to make the mind meaningful, cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment; in order to make enjoyment meaningful, make offerings to the Three Jewels, respect the Sangha, and so on. If you combine this with pure aspirations, then without a doubt, you will attain the perfect Buddhahood that possesses all qualities. Again, to summarize the key points in concise verses: Obtaining a human body with leisure and opportunity to practice the sacred Dharma is extremely rare, Having thoroughly understood the nature of impermanence and rapid decay, Diligently taking up virtue and abandoning evil, Is the first step. Seeing limitless beings in the ocean of samsara, Being swallowed by the crocodiles of suffering, And seeking the shore of liberation and nirvana, Generating renunciation is the second step. Considering beings equal to space as one's own parents, Who have repeatedly given help and kindness, remembering their kindness, With love, compassion, and the supreme mind of enlightenment, Benefiting others is the third step. Knowing that all appearances are one's own mind, The nature of mind is like an illusion, merely an aggregation of causes and conditions, Realizing that illusion is free from elaboration, Meditating on reality is the fourth step. Constantly making offerings to the Three Jewels, Gradually abandoning non-virtuous deeds, And satisfying the unprotected and poor with generosity, Finally, combining this with the dedication of the three spheres in purity. Thus, temporary and ultimate benefits will certainly be accomplished. This is a summary of the key points of the Great Vehicle path, I offer this teaching with a benevolent intention for the benefit of you, the patron, Please practice it and accomplish all goals! This was said by Ra Lod Dorje, a householder Bodhisattva who has unwavering faith in the precious Dharma and is a patron of those who uphold the teachings, when he requested a detailed teaching that would benefit the Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
