If it is impermanent, what need is there to mention other mundane things? Thus, the teacher of all beings, including gods, along with his retinue, is also impermanent. Omniscient Longchenpa said: "Brahma and Indra, the powerful one with a thousand eyes, even the son without craving will be impermanent and go to the other shore." As it is said, if we contemplate the fact that even the lords of the great, noble, and high beings of the three realms are impermanent, then there is certainly no doubt about death. In the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury, it says: "Because the outer and inner four seasons and ages change, it is certain that death is impermanent, so abandon the clinging to permanence. Form is a particle, time is a moment, like lightning in the sky, it is impermanent." As it is said, the changes of the outer four seasons, the rise and fall of the inner four elements, the changes in the secret body, mind, actions, and so on, no matter from which aspect we think, it is obvious that we cannot know which will come first, tomorrow's affairs or the next life. There is no certainty when we will die, and there are many causes of death. There is no one who will not die from diseases, evil spirits, etc. The so-called impermanence of life and death will come suddenly. Built houses, accumulated wealth, close relatives and friends, etc., will not help, and one must leave with karma as one's only master. Thinking that there is nothing more beneficial for death than the sacred Dharma, the Extensive Play Sutra says: "The three realms are impermanent like autumn clouds, this time of approaching and taking will be destroyed and separated. The four seasons are impermanent, changing and without essence, aging and decaying are subject to death, there is no moment of staying. The life of beings is like water flowing down a steep mountain." As Nagarjuna said: "If a fire suddenly breaks out on your head or clothes, even if you abandon what you should do to prevent it, you should strive to ensure that there is no rebirth, there is no other supreme Dharma more needed than this." Contemplating the meaning of what was said in your heart, and repeatedly reciting these words in your mouth, knowing the activities of this life like a dream, thereby restraining your mind, not allowing yourself to be lazy and procrastinating, until the thought arises that you must start striving now to see if you can achieve ultimate happiness. Then, cultivate loving-kindness and compassion as the basis: Like the sky in the ten directions, the realms of the world are inconceivable. All of these are filled with sentient beings of the six realms without any gaps. There is not one of them who has not been my mother. Each of them should be cherished like your present mother.

Held by the mind of loving-kindness, guided by the conduct of compassion, helped by various means, they are entirely kind benefactors who protect from harm. Although all beings are equal in wanting happiness and not wanting suffering, they are constantly engaged in the causes and effects of suffering due to ignorance and lack of skill in means, and they are constantly tormented and miserable. Remembering this situation, I am moved by unbearable compassion, and tears flow. Thus encouraged, without discriminating between present mothers and future mothers, without distinguishing between near and far, may all beings be endowed with perfect happiness, may they be separated from all causes and effects of suffering. Thinking thus, the Essence of Excellent Sutra says: "The nature of loving-kindness is sentient beings, happiness ripens and is uniquely supreme, pervading and abiding is the cloud of compassion, the abode of the supreme non-dual wisdom." Also, as the Sutra Requested by the Daughter Moon Supreme says: "Seeing the multitude of beings suffering, compassion cannot bear it, may they be free from suffering, constantly and solely doing benefit, I prostrate to that tree of compassion." Reciting these words in my mouth and repeatedly remembering their meaning in my mind, may all beings desire to have happiness and desire to be free from suffering, until the uncreated or arising thought. In connection with this, the cultivation of bodhicitta is: From beginningless time, obscured by the darkness of ignorance, disturbed in mind by afflictions and driven mad, lacking the eye to see what to accept and reject, and without the guidance of a virtuous friend, stumbling with misdeeds and falling into the abyss of samsara and the lower realms, these beings must be liberated from the great suffering of samsara and placed in the permanent bliss of liberation. However, I do not have that ability now, so in order to quickly attain the state of Buddhahood, I will liberate every single being from the ocean of suffering of samsara. Thinking thus, the Prince Shantideva said: "Just as the Sugatas of the past generated the mind of enlightenment, and dwelt in the training of the Bodhisattvas in that order, so too, for the sake of benefiting beings, I will generate the mind of enlightenment, and likewise, I will train in the trainings in that order." The Omniscient One said:
