Because it is said in the scriptures to rely on the mudrā (ཕྱག་རྒྱ་, hand seal), therefore, relying on the karma mudrā (ལས་ཀྱི་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་, action seal), with the fire of the fierce heat (གཏུམ་མོའི་མེ, inner heat), from the Hūṃ (ཧྃ་) syllable at the forehead, when the bodhicitta (བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས, mind of enlightenment) essence melts, the initial essence is in a diluted state, in the process of dripping between the vajra jewel (referring to the union of male and female), when the essence becomes slightly thicker, before it becomes the process of shaking and dripping, one should practice mindfulness. Then, when the essence becomes slightly thicker, entering the process of shaking and dripping, and when the essence becomes very thick, entering the process of the essence not shaking and dripping, it is not necessary to practice the yoga of mindfulness combined with the karma mudrā. Even if one practices to quickly perfect great bliss, there is no conflict. Similarly, in the stage of mindfulness, ten states of desire will appear, and one should practice mindfulness until the ten states become pure. The ten states of desire are mentioned in the King of Tantras: 'Thought and desire, heat arises in the body, the mouth श्रेष्ठ पद्म शुष्क (梵文天城体:श्रेष्ठ पद्म शुष्क,梵文罗马拟音:śreṣṭha padma śuṣka,汉语字面意思:best lotus dry),food is not enjoyable, trembling and madness, extreme delusion, the mind of yoga is confused, and severe fainting. The ten extremely bright appearances such as the smoke of Vajradhara (རྡོ་རྗེ་ཅན, one who holds the vajra), beings are in the world. Those that are extremely bright and certain, in the state of mental confusion, who can conquer desire?' Fifth, there are three ways to practice mindfulness: Generally, the method of achieving great bliss by relying on the three mudrās; specifically, the method of practicing mindfulness by relying on the karma mudrā; and achieving bliss by relying on the karma mudrā is explained as the path of profound secret. First, in the chapter on the method of practice in the King of Tantras, it says: 'These, according to distinctions such as inferiority, have various main practices, becoming three types. The three mudrās and three states, due to the power of the three processes, are karma, conceptualization, and supreme.' In the commentary, it is explained: 'These, according to distinctions such as inferiority, have various main Kālacakra (དུས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ, wheel of time) practices, becoming three types. The three mudrās and three states are due to the power of the three processes.' Here, the process of the bodhicitta dripping is the inferior state, the process of shaking and dripping is the intermediate state, and the process of not shaking and dripping is the supreme state. Among these, the karma mudrā is dripping. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Karma Mudra (las kyi phyag rgya, 业手印,action seal) bestows bliss, the Jnana Mudra (ye shes kyi phyag rgya, 智慧手印,wisdom seal) bestows moving bliss, and the Maha Mudra (phyag rgya chen mo, 大手印,great seal) bestows immovable bliss. Therefore, the Bhagavan (bcom ldan 'das, 薄伽梵,Blessed One) said that in the six-limbed union, one should meditate on the three Mudras. Thus, the yogi should practice the six-limbed union for the sake of Buddhahood. It is said that for childish beings, bliss is accomplished through the Karma Mudra. For those of middling capacity, it is through the Jnana Mudra. For the supreme yogis, it is through the Maha Mudra. The meaning of these statements, according to the views of the earlier Dro-wa Choje ( 'bro ba chos rje, 卓瓦法王,Drowa Dharma Lord) and others, is as follows: Those with dull faculties should rely on the Karma Mudra with proper characteristics, practicing the four Mudra union with elaboration as appropriate. Those with middling faculties should rely on the Jnana Mudra, equal in number to the deities of the mandala, practicing the three Mudra union with very little elaboration. Those with sharp faculties should rely on the Maha Mudra, as numerous as the dust of illusory forms, practicing the one Mudra union with extremely little elaboration. In essence, it is divided into three: for individuals with dull, middling, and sharp faculties, three different lineages. Those with dull faculties must rely on the Karma Mudra to accomplish the great bliss of immovability. Those with middling faculties, without relying on the Karma Mudra, can accomplish the great bliss of immovability by relying on the Jnana Mudra. Those with sharp faculties, without relying on the previous two Mudras, can accomplish the great bliss of immovability solely through the Maha Mudra. The four Mudra union refers to the union of the basis, the Samaya Mudra (dam tshig gi phyag rgya, 誓言手印,vow seal) that does not leak; from this arises the Karma Mudra; the path is the Jnana Mudra; and the result is the Maha Mudra. The three Mudra union refers to the union of the three Mudras excluding the Karma Mudra. The one Mudra union is considered to be the Maha Mudra and the non-leaking essence as one. However, according to the tantras and commentaries, the reason why yogis of dull, middling, and sharp faculties, three different lineages, rely on the three Mudras in sequence is not for the sake of union, but because it is said that there are 'three Mudras and three stages.' Therefore, it is one yogi who needs to rely on and not rely on the Karma Mudra in sequence in three stages, which is the meaning of union. Thus, after obtaining the limb of holding, entering into mindfulness... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
