approximately. Due to the grace of Naropa, if one attains a samadhi-like state, one might seriously wonder whether this is an outsider or a Buddhist, and even oneself might not be sure. When reciting the correct name, one memorizes many difficult points of the sound and goes to inquire. Without asking, the Blessed One Light Protector spoke those sounds in that way. The Blessed One Shakyamuni Buddha, the noble Great Light Protector, and the noble Kungawo said these words, up to the point where the Pandit is now teaching in this way. Similarly, all the Buddhas of the ten directions spoke in this way, saying that it is such a meaning. There, the happy mantra practitioner asked about all the difficult points of the sound residing in the Good Conduct Chapter and received answers. Putowa told Puchung that the name meditation was confusing, and my meditation confusion is that if juniper can be picked in India, if one can climb to the last rung of the ladder, seeing the inverted bowl, when lying, the mother says to teach, the mother's teaching is oral, the Sanskrit (Sanskrit: Sanskrit, Sanskrit Romanization: Samskrita, Chinese literal meaning: Sanskrit) language is separate, saying that this is the enhancement of the previous meaning. Second, the explanation of the meaning of the name is: Jowo asked Geshe Tonpa the reason why the name of this treatise is "A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment," and replied that just like the story of not snatching toys and killing the demon Kharwa, the name was taken from the meaning. Therefore, the name of this treatise is well composed from the four major Indian languages, and in Sanskrit (Sanskrit: Sanskrit, Sanskrit Romanization: Samskrita, Chinese literal meaning: Sanskrit) it is called Bodhipathapradipa (Sanskrit: बोधिपथप्रदीप, Sanskrit Romanization: bodhipathapradīpa, Chinese literal meaning: Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment), which translates into our Tibetan language as the ultimate result to be attained, the great enlightenment of non-abiding nirvana. In order to attain it, the lamp that clarifies the points of what to take and abandon on the path, that is, first meditate on the fear of the cycle of birth and death. By this, one develops trust in the greatness of fear and the Three Jewels of refuge, and thus takes refuge. After taking refuge, one practices, and one will not come with the body of the lower realms. Therefore, one meditates on developing trust in the greatness of karma and its results, thereby abandoning the cause of the lower realms and accomplishing the cause of the higher realms. Even if one only attains the higher realms, one knows that it is the nature of suffering and deception, thereby turning one's back on all existence and abandoning its cause, and

Having done so, even if one only attains one's own liberation, it is most shameful to abandon those poor sentient beings wandering in samsara and only accomplish one's own liberation. Therefore, integrating the experience of realizing one's own suffering, with unbearable compassion for the suffering of sentient beings, desiring to attain great Bodhi for the sake of liberating sentient beings, therefore, with the preliminary practice of prostration and offering, take special refuge and vow to learn the precepts. Afterwards, with love and compassion for all sentient beings as the guide, vow to attain all-knowing wisdom, generate the aspiring Bodhicitta and learn the five precepts. Even if one only has the aspiring Bodhicitta with the vow for its result, if one does not take the engaging vows, one cannot attain the ultimate result of the increase of aspiring Bodhicitta—Buddhahood. Therefore, possessing any one of the seven types of individual liberation vows as the basis, first perform the preliminary practice of prostration and offering. If there is a virtuous spiritual friend with the four qualities, rely on him; if not, take the engaging Bodhisattva vows from the Buddhas of the ten directions, vowing to the cause, and learn the three trainings of discipline. Even if one only learns these, without clairvoyance, one's own accumulation of merit cannot be completed, and one cannot accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, so one must cultivate clairvoyance. For this, one must attain calm abiding. For this, one must abide in its conducive conditions, so abiding in the conducive conditions and cultivating calm abiding, this is to stabilize the part of skillful means. Even if these are stable, if one does not abandon the grasping of phenomena with wisdom, one cannot attain all-knowing wisdom. Therefore, gradually meditate on the two types of selflessness embraced by skillful means. Meditating on the union of these two in this way, first arises the merit that is in accordance with the part of liberation. Afterwards, gradually passing through the four stages of discernment, such as warmth, one first attains the Joyful Ground. From this, with the meaning of the seeing path, through the nine grounds of the path of meditation, one becomes familiar, thereby attaining complete Bodhi, this is the way of the Paramitas. From the perspective of secret mantra, in order to perform activities, one must receive empowerment. With the empowerment of wisdom and knowledge, a celibate practitioner cannot perform. One must receive the Acharya empowerment and receive permission from the Lama. The Dharma of the Acharya must be proficient in the ten sciences, etc., these arise gradually in the continuum of the individual, and this is the true lamp.
