A person with merits is particularly excellent. Among all the vehicles of the path, this vehicle of the essential meaning is particularly excellent. Compared to all the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, a single moment of wisdom arising from meditation is particularly excellent. Compared to practicing all conditioned virtues, a single moment of unconditioned virtue is particularly excellent. Compared to meditating on all conceptualized samadhi, a single moment of non-conceptualized samadhi is particularly excellent. Compared to experiencing all contaminated pleasures, a single moment of uncontaminated pleasure is particularly excellent. Compared to all the pleasures of experience that arise in the mindstream, a single moment of realization arising is particularly excellent. Compared to practicing all deliberately performed virtuous deeds, a single moment of action without deliberate effort is particularly excellent. Compared to making all material offerings, not grasping onto anything is particularly excellent. These are the ten particularly excellent dharmas. The ten dharmas that are good no matter what: For a person whose mind has turned to the Dharma, it is good whether they abandon activities or not. For a person who has cut off the mind of superimposition and denial, it is good whether they meditate or not. For a person who has cut off attachment to desirable qualities, it is good whether they are without attachment or not. For a person who has directly realized the nature of reality, it is good whether they lie down in emptiness or become the leader of a large group. For a person who knows appearances as illusion, it is good whether they stay alone in a solitary mountain retreat or travel around the country in all directions. For a person who has gained control over their mind, it is good whether they abandon or rely on desirable qualities. For a person who possesses the mind of enlightenment, it is good whether they practice in solitude or benefit others in a gathering. For a person with unwavering devotion, it is good whether they stay near the guru or not. For a person who is learned and understands the meaning, it is good whether they attain accomplishments or encounter obstacles. For a person who has attained supreme realization, it is good whether they have common signs of accomplishment or not. These are the ten dharmas that are good no matter what. The ten qualities of the sacred Dharma: The ten virtues of the Dharma, the six perfections, all of emptiness, the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, and the noble... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The four Dhyānas (meditative absorptions), the four formless absorptions, and the maturation and liberation through mantras appearing in the world are the qualities of the Holy Dharma. The greatness and sublimity of the Kshatriya (warrior) caste, the greatness and sublimity of the Brahmin (priestly) caste, the greatness and sublimity of the householder caste, the six types of gods in the desire realm such as the Four Great Kings, the seventeen types of gods in the form realm, and the four types of gods in the formless realm appearing in the world are the qualities of the Holy Dharma. The Stream-enterer, the Once-returner, the Non-returner, the Arhat, the Pratyekabuddha (Solitary Buddha), and the Buddha who knows all aspects appearing and arising in the world are the qualities of the Holy Dharma. Through the power of generating Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment) and aspiration, the two forms of the Rupakaya (form body) that spontaneously arise from compassion, until Samsara (cyclic existence) is empty, spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, are the qualities of the Holy Dharma. All the abundant necessities that sentient beings rely on for sustenance arise from the power of the aspirations of the Bodhisattvas, and are therefore the qualities of the Holy Dharma. Even in the lower realms and places without leisure, the temporary happiness that exists is all accomplished through white virtuous merit, and is therefore the qualities of the Holy Dharma. Even evil individuals can transform their minds towards the Holy Dharma, transforming into virtuous beings, becoming objects of reverence for all, and this is the quality of the Holy Dharma. Those who formerly recklessly engaged in sinful and unwholesome actions, accumulating fuel for the fires of hell, can also transform their minds towards the Holy Dharma, and touch the bliss of higher realms and liberation, and this is the quality of the Holy Dharma. Merely having faith, admiration, or joy in the Holy Dharma, or merely holding its form, becomes pleasing to all and an object of veneration, and this is the quality of the Holy Dharma. Renouncing all possessions, going forth from home into homelessness, and dwelling hidden in solitary monasteries, one can still receive abundant necessities for life, and this is the quality of the Holy Dharma. These are the ten qualities of the Holy Dharma in brief. The Ten Dharmas of Mere Name The Ten Dharmas of Mere Name are: Because the fundamental reality cannot be pointed out, the foundation is merely a name. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
