Then clarity arises. After that, the Yuganaddha-kaya (union body) appears in two forms: those of learners and those of non-learners. As soon as one becomes a non-learner, it indicates that the fruit has been attained.' As it is said, therefore, the essential points of the Bardo Red Guidance (Tibetan: བར་དོ་དམར་ཁྲིད) are three: First, recognizing the clear light of the bardo; second, recognizing the illusory body; and third, blocking the entrance to the womb. The first point has three aspects: the dissolution of the five senses, the dissolution of the four elements, and the dissolution of the three appearances. For a person's death, these processes occur: The order of the dissolution of the five senses is: First, form dissolves into sound, causing the eyes to not see forms; sound dissolves into smell, causing the ears to not hear sounds; smell dissolves into taste, causing the nose to not perceive smells; taste dissolves into touch, causing the tongue to not perceive tastes; touch dissolves into consciousness, causing the body to not perceive touch. Then comes the second step, the order of the dissolution of the four elements: First, when earth dissolves into water, the body cannot support itself, a sinking appearance occurs, dust accumulates on the face, and the nostrils and ears collapse. When water dissolves into fire, saliva and nasal mucus will first flow out, and then the mouth and nose will dry up, and the tongue will shrink inward. Black spots appear. When fire dissolves into wind, the temperature of the limbs contracts from the extremities, the eyeballs roll upwards, and the hands and feet twitch. When wind dissolves into consciousness, breathing becomes rapid, exhaling long breaths and inhaling short breaths, and when it twitches at the crown of the head, two breaths cease. Third, the order of the dissolution of appearances: Then, when consciousness dissolves into appearance, the external sign is like the rising of the moon, and the internal consciousness appears like a billowing smoke. At this time, the thirty-three thoughts arising from hatred cease. When appearance dissolves into increase, the external sign is like the rising of the sun, and internally, a flickering red light like a firefly appears in the consciousness. At this time, the forty thoughts arising from desire cease. When increase dissolves into attainment, the external sign is like the coming of darkness, a pitch-black darkness. The internal sign is that consciousness is as clear as a candle. At this time, the seven thoughts arising from ignorance cease. Thus, the seven thoughts of ignorance, the thirty-three thoughts of hatred, and the forty thoughts of desire, a total of eighty self-nature thoughts, all cease. Then, when attainment dissolves into clear light, when the last breath is exhaled, all sentient beings experience the clear light of emptiness like the Dharmakaya (Tibetan: ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ་, Sanskrit: dharmakāya, Body of Truth), if one can recognize that this is the clear light of practice and self-nature. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

如《中阴经》(bar do'i grong khyer des mi mthong)所说:‘中阴之城不可见。’

Like the mixing of light with water and milk, or like the merging of the sky inside a vase with the sky outside, one attains Dharmakaya (chos sku). Thus, in the Four Sessions (gdan bzhi), the clear light is ever-present. As it says in the 'City of Bardo' (bar do'i grong khyer des mi mthong): 'The city of Bardo is not seen.' And as it says in the 'Praise of Names' (mtshan brjod): 'In a single instant, perfect enlightenment; in a single instant, distinctions are made.' This means one can attain Buddhahood in a single lifetime. The two Rupakayas (gzugs sku gnyis) appear to others. The first Bardo is the recognition of clear light. Second, recognizing the illusory body (sgyu lus) is divided into two: the impure illusory body and the pure illusory body. The impure illusory body is when, if one cannot abide in the clear light, the appearances of the Bardo arise. For three and a half days, one appears in the body as if one had not died. Therefore, when one goes to the living, they cannot see due to karma, but the dead can see. The living cannot hear what one says, but the dead can hear. All the living feel anger towards one. There is no obstruction from mountains or walls. If one remembers, one can remember any of the worlds of the gods. Divine eyes and the Bardo being can see. One has the magical power of karma, and the body has light. In a moment, extremely unstable forms appear, so it is crucial to know 'I am dead, this is the Bardo.' After that, for three and a half days, the appearance of the body in which one will be born in the future will appear. Its characteristics are as stated in the Abhidharma (mngon pa): 'First, there is a body with flesh, all senses complete, without obstruction, with the magical power of karma, seen by the divine eyes of the same kind, and later there is a body.' This is a universal phenomenon, which is the impure illusory body. Second, the pure illusory body is when, after recognizing the above impure illusory body, one meditates on the deity's form that one is familiar with, meditating on its lack of inherent existence, and repeatedly meditating on Mahamudra (phyag rgya chen po). This is the learning union (slob pa'i zung 'jug), where all habitual tendencies are burned by the fire of clear light. It is said that meditating for a moment at that time is more beneficial than meditating for years in the past. After that, all conceptual thoughts are burned by the fire of clear light, and one perfects the practice of no distinction between what is purified and what purifies, attaining the non-dual Dharmakaya and manifesting in many Rupakayas, which is the non-learning union (mi slob pa'i zung 'jug). The second Bardo is the recognition of the illusory body. Third, blocking the womb entrance (mngal sgo dgag pa) is divided into two: blocking the womb entrance --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
