The order of empowerment to ripen the immature: From the Tantra Collection: Without relying on the secret mantra empowerment, how can one achieve? Just like a musical instrument without a plectrum, how can one cross over to the other shore? After thoroughly receiving all empowerments, all secret mantras will be accomplished without practice. Thus it is said. From the Longsal: Just like a fertile field, if not cultivated in order, the fruit will not ripen, even though the nature of reality abides in the mind, if not ripened by empowerment, how can one obtain the accomplishment of yoga? Thus it is said. Therefore, grant the empowerments of with elaboration, without elaboration, extremely without elaboration, completely without elaboration, most without elaboration, and the power of wisdom, etc., to fully ripen the continuum. Thus, there are two necessary purposes for empowerment: temporary and ultimate. The temporary is to make the continuum suitable as a vessel for secret mantra, and the ultimate is to obtain all the qualities of secret mantra. Without empowerment, there are faults opposite to the qualities. Therefore, after bestowing the empowerment that ripens, in order to explain the key instructions that liberate, in the causal vehicle of the Paramita Vehicle, it is explained how the Buddha appeared in the world, how the Arhats compiled the scriptures, how the Panditas composed treatises, the characteristics of the teacher who teaches, the characteristics of the disciple who listens, the nature of the things to be done in common, and in order to make listening not tiresome and to generate joy, the origin of the Dharma and special stories are told at appropriate times. Here, in the order of the instructions of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana, there are three: preliminary, main practice, and subsequent practice. The first is divided into three: common and uncommon distinctions. The first has six: the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, impermanence of death, karma and its results, the faults of samsara, the benefits of liberation, and generating genuine faith. The second, the uncommon, has six: taking refuge, generating bodhicitta, taking vows, purifying obscurations, the guidance of Vajrasattva's meditation and recitation, the guidance of the mandala for accumulating merit, and the guidance of the Guru Yoga for the entry of blessings. The third, the special preliminary, is divided into three: outer, inner, and secret. Among these, the first is to make the listener a suitable vessel.

Therefore, one should generate the supreme Bodhicitta and listen without distraction. As it is said in the Extensive Play Sutra: "Faith in this is the gateway to the appearance of Dharma, which makes the mind workable." Therefore, one should listen in a way that is free from the three faults and six stains, and endowed with the six qualities. The three faults are: like an overturned vessel, because the ears do not focus on the meaning of the words, one cannot grasp even a little; like a vessel with a hole in the bottom, even if one grasps it, one does not do it diligently and thoroughly, so the realization is not stable; like a poisonous vessel, even if one takes it, one is not sustained by the mind of renunciation and Bodhicitta, so it does not become an antidote to afflictions, but becomes an ally. One should abandon these faults and listen. As it is said in the Sutra: "O monks, listen well, listen carefully, and keep it in mind! I will teach you." It is like this. Listening well eliminates the fault of poison. Listening carefully eliminates the fault of being upside down. Keeping it in mind eliminates the fault of having a hole in the bottom. The six stains are: As it is said in the Treatise on Discrimination: "Pride and disbelief, having no desire for meaning, external distraction and internal contraction, weariness are stains." Therefore, when listening to the Dharma, one should abandon extreme pride and affectation, sitting high up, etc.; abandon listening without faith in the Dharma, friends, and the Lama; abandon having no desire or aspiration for the meaning of the Dharma; abandon allowing the senses such as eyes, ears, and mind to wander to external objects; abandon internal contraction of the mind such as sleep and drowsiness; abandon weariness that interrupts the Dharma, such as thinking "this thing must be done." One should generate joy, respect, and faith, abandon obstacles such as sleep and drowsiness, and afflictions such as pride, and transcend the defiled mind of this life, focusing only on liberation. For the benefit of sentient beings, I should listen to this Dharma and generate benefit in my continuum, and I should listen with a particularly pure intention and aspiration, so that listening becomes immaculate and glorious. Second, the way the Buddha manifested his coming: From the perspective of both the Lesser and Greater Vehicles, from the perspective of the Hearers, our teacher generated Bodhicitta in the presence of the Buddha Great Hero (Shakyamuni Buddha's previous life) countless eons ago, and accumulated the two accumulations on that basis of the small accumulation path, therefore...
