Inner Practice of the Oath-Protector Shanpa Inner Practice of the Oath-Protector Shanpa T11608 - 546 ༄༅། །A small, sealed instruction manual for the propitiation and practice of the red and black Shanpa, the Yaksha. Homage to the glorious Lord of Pride. If a mantra practitioner who has mastered the practice of the yidam wishes to accomplish the great Yaksha, then in a secluded practice chamber such as a charnel ground, on a platform one arrow-length high, with a hole drilled in it, place four willow arrows at each of the four corners, adorned with vulture feathers, a cushion, and various silks and jewels hung around their necks. On the offering stand atop the mandala, place a glorious red torma made from dough mixed with spices, food, and jewels, in a copper or bhanda vessel, surrounded by offering cakes equal in number to the deities, decorated inside with various meats and blood. May the great Yaksha never part from me, the practitioner, but act as a helper, increase retinue and wealth, protect against obstacles and hindrances, and subdue adversaries. In short, may you effortlessly accomplish whatever tasks are entrusted to you. Write this in gold and place it inside. At the top, erect a painted image with a fluttering red silk banner. Keep it there constantly, never letting it depart. Finally, surround it with suitable substances such as immediate offering cakes, alcohol, meat, and other necessities. When the main practice begins, seal off the boundaries tightly, and bless the offerings with the samadhi of the wrathful lotus. Visualize the support in front clearly, perform the invocation and offerings as described in the text, and finally, with the essential points and the mantra of the root life-force, recite fiercely with the oral instructions. During the session breaks, strive diligently in the fulfillment and supplication, and keep the vows of practice very secret. If you practice in this way for twenty-one days, signs of accomplishment will definitely appear in experience, dreams, or visions, such as the sound of musical instruments, light, the gathering of many people, tribal leaders, village officials, khenpos, gatherings of Bonpos, and the discovery of treasures of wealth and grain. At that time, if you wish to apply it to activity, place a lingam written according to the instructions in the hole and perform the summoning and drawing in fiercely. The visualization and recitation of oneself and the Yaksha are the same as before, but only perform the expulsion.
