It is said that due to the power of beginningless habitual tendencies, the arising of meditative stabilization without instruction, which is in accordance with it, is the nature of phenomena, that is, self-nature and essence. The Vaibhashikas say that due to the power of the virtuous dharma of meditating on meditative stabilization in the past, that which arises in accordance with it is the nature of phenomena. That is to say, the ripening of the causes and conditions of previous lives, the manifestation of the fruit of the same cause, is the nature of phenomena. The so-called "the aspects of phenomena are like this" refers to the aspects of phenomena with outflows and without outflows, such as realms, grounds, objects, etc., as described above. The so-called "one who holds the scriptures is the one who speaks" refers to those who speak about the Sutras, Vinaya, and Abhidharma in terms of meaning and words, and they are the ones who hold the scriptures. The so-called "one who holds realization is the one who practices" refers to those who abide in the fruit or enter the path of cultivation, and they hold the dharma that is in accordance with the nature of enlightenment, the factors of enlightenment. Others say that the one who holds the scriptures is the one who speaks and the one who practices, that is, the basis, because the practitioners are the basis of the scriptures without inversion. When speaking of realization, only the practitioner can do it. Therefore, as long as there are practitioners, the holy dharma called realization will remain. Similarly, as long as there are speakers, the scriptures will be spoken. Here, it is only from the perspective of the speaker that it is said that the speaker is held. Therefore, there is no special distinction for some dharmas here. Then, is the Abhidharma spoken in this Treatise on the Treasury of Abhidharma the same as the definition spoken in treatises such as the Introduction to Abhidharma Wisdom? Therefore, the tenets of the Kashmirian Vaibhashikas are widely explained. The reason for saying "mostly" is that here, there is a slight departure from the views of the Kashmirian school, such as the views on shapes, images, past, and future. If there is any mistake in this, it is my own fault, because the nature of phenomena is profound and the scriptures are vast.

Because you are difficult to find, I repent. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and the sons of the Buddhas, who possess wisdom without attachment or obstruction to all knowable things, are the only measure of the profound and vast Dharma. The phrase "The teacher, the eye of the world, has closed" means that the Bhagavat, who abandoned the non-virtuous path and certainly united with the virtuous, truly proclaimed the relationship between cause and effect, became the eye of the world, and has completely entered Nirvana. The phrase "Most of the powerful beings have passed away" refers to those who have directly seen the Buddha's teachings, possess scriptural authority and realization, and follow the scriptural authority without contradicting reason. "When they pass away" means when they are under the control of impermanence. The word "most" indicates that powerful beings are very rare. Those who have not seen the truth are ordinary beings. "Without a guide" means that those guides are the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and the sons of the Buddhas, and because they are gone, there is no guide. "Evil speculators have disturbed this doctrine" means that those who follow evil speculation are evil speculators. Or it is evil speculation itself, because the way of speculation is to slander and contradict the scriptures. Following speculation, adding excessively from the perspective of words and meanings, indicates that the doctrine has been disturbed. "Self-born, self-born, those who cherish the doctrine, go to the most peaceful" means that the most peaceful refers to the realm of Nirvana without remainder, because it is completely separated from all aggregates. Without empowerment, from the complete maturation of the accumulation of merit and wisdom, one has attained the state of omniscience by oneself, therefore one is self-born. The self-born doctrine refers to the path of the three aggregates, and the three baskets of Sutra, Vinaya, and Abhidharma that proclaim this path. Those who strive to maintain the doctrine by observing sentient beings with scriptural authority and realization are the cherishing ones of the doctrine, and when they also go to the most peaceful, they follow them. When there is no protector of beings, there is no guide.
