And the continuum also remains in a moderately clear state. The lowest, the power of its non-discrimination is also small, and the clarity of the continuum is also slightly worse than the former. After knowing the superior, intermediate, and inferior, when you want to focus on the object of focus, whatever you experience is acceptable, and after being content, performing the ritual of stability will not cause physical discomfort, and you will not regress later. If the intermediate and inferior do not understand contentment, do not make any strenuous efforts. If you practice without performing the ritual of stability, you will become physically uncomfortable and will regress later. The sharpness and dullness of the faculties, the amount of hearing, and the superior, intermediate, and inferior, gradual and simultaneous, the difference in clarity, you should know that it is uncertain what will arise. Therefore, if you understand and possess the eight dharmas, and you want to focus on the object of focus through the power of practice, then the ritual of stability, if you understand the nine differences through the power of the four dharmas, because you have eliminated faults and possess merits, you will not regress later. These four dharmas are the superior, intermediate, and inferior, and when you want to focus on the object of focus, there is no discomfort, slight discomfort, and the superior, intermediate, and inferior do not focus on the object of focus, and when you want to focus on the object of focus, it will become very uncomfortable. These nine differences are, the superior has three, the intermediate has three, and the inferior has three. Among them, the three superior ones are, when you want to focus on the object of focus, if there is no discomfort at all, then practice as much as you can in the six periods of day and night. If the superior becomes slightly uncomfortable, then practice as much as you can in the four periods of day and night. If the superior becomes very uncomfortable, and the object of focus appears simultaneously, know that there is no need to perform the ritual of stability. The three intermediate ones are, when you want to focus on the object of focus, if there is no discomfort at all, then practice as much as you can in the four periods of day and night. If the intermediate becomes slightly uncomfortable, then practice as much as you can in the two periods of day and night. If the intermediate becomes very uncomfortable, and the object of focus appears simultaneously, know that there is absolutely no need to perform the ritual of stability. Through the power of the four dharmas, the inferior has three, that is, when the inferior wants to focus on the object of focus, if there is no discomfort, then practice as much as you can in the two periods of day and night. If the inferior slightly

If it becomes uncomfortable, just practice the previous meditation for two or three days. If that lower channel becomes very uncomfortable, and the object appears at the same time, know that there is absolutely no need for a stabilizing ritual. Abandoning faults and possessing qualities means abandoning the faults of the channel becoming uncomfortable, the object becoming unclear, and the object deteriorating, and possessing three qualities: the channel will not become uncomfortable, the object will not become unclear, and the object will not deteriorate. Therefore, it will not deteriorate and will become stable. If you want to fix it on the object, and by the power of the stabilizing ritual make it stable, then later wanting to fix it on the object is called being in accordance with the direction of abiding, but it is not the completion of calm abiding. There, even if you have attained being in accordance with the direction of calm abiding, if you know and possess the three dharmas, it will become the completion of calm abiding. The three dharmas are: knowing the four extremes and knowing the distinction between what to take and what to abandon, possessing the six causes of calm abiding and abandoning what is incompatible with them, and meditating in moderation and not for a long time. There, knowing the four extremes and knowing the distinction between what to take and what to abandon means knowing that by the power of incomplete samadhi, the experience of the mind will appear as four extremes. The first extreme is that the object is unclear and there is excitement. The second extreme is that the object is unclear and there is no excitement. The third extreme is that the object is moderately clear and there is excitement. The fourth extreme is that the object is very clear and there is no excitement. The first extreme occurs when the yogi's faculty of awareness is weak. The second extreme occurs when sinking is predominant. The third extreme occurs when the faculty of awareness is moderate, and even if the faculty is strong, it occurs when one does not want to meditate. The fourth extreme occurs when the faculty of awareness is also strong, and one wants to meditate. Knowing the distinction between what to take and what to abandon means that by the power of incomplete samadhi, the experience of the mind will appear as four extremes. If you know that it appears in this way, you will naturally know the distinction between what to take and what to abandon. There, the characteristic of unyielding samadhi is that the mind is very clear. Sinking and excitement both.
