English

īs tshugs mi 'gyur. ma su ru ṣas byas pa'i lugs kyi bstan bcos las le'u gnyis pa'o|| As long as the time has not come, the enemy should be honored above all. Likewise, when the time has come, crush them as if smashing pottery on a stone. Even if they are lowly and speak words of pity, the enemy should not be let go. Do not have pity on them, and crush those who have caused harm in the past. Debts, the remnants of fire, and likewise the remnants of enemies, will increase again and again, therefore do not leave remnants. In return for what has been done, do good, and to those who cause death, inflict pain again. Do not regard this as wrong, and be unkind to those who are unkind. For the sake of the poor, protect wealth. Protect your wife with wealth. And with both wealth and wife, protect yourself for the sake of all things. One who slanders in secret but acts kindly, and speaks sweetly in public, such a friend should be abandoned, like poison in milk at the mouth of a vase. Do not give charity grudgingly, and do not join palms arrogantly. Follow such a fool, and be as skilled in means as they are. Join palms to the enemy and trust them, touch their head and show respect, and make actions such as shedding tears of suffering. Act in this way to gain wealth. Follow the powerful enemy. Destroy the weak enemy. But to an enemy of equal strength, be neither harmonious nor submissive. Do not do what causes suffering. Do not adopt a manner that causes dejection. Do not undertake a task that will not be completed. Do not strike one who will not fall. Do not contend with what cannot be overcome. Do not dwell where there are enemies. Do not uproot a tree that has not had its roots pulled out. Do not cut what has not been divided in two. An assembly without elders is not an assembly. An elder who does not teach the Dharma is not an elder. What has no truth is not Dharma. What has no connection between words and meaning is not meaning. Thorns that are deeply embedded, and those who have fallen from the Dharma, and the three—enemies and grudges that have entered—it is happiness to uproot them from the root. Do not be upright forever, go out in the morning and look around, there the straight trees will be cut down, while the crooked trees will be observed for their place. Whatever you think of, think of benefiting it, and the wise who follow will quickly come under your control. Whoever should be killed in this way, do not say.

Now, unknowingly, killing occurs. The deer king is extremely enraged. Curling up the body is like harming. Holding resentment firmly in the heart. Act without relying on others. The wise should be patient and not count others' faults. For example, the cuckoo and the ant. And those with silver-stone-like colors. Whatever the palm of the hand-walker is. Even if it deteriorates at the wrong time. Whoever relies on wisdom. Dignity and status are not diminished. It's like the poison doesn't change. Even if a person declines, their status is high. Whenever the other shore is pure. Here, the pillar erected by the son is a symbol. For noble people. Serve and respect in various ways. The hunter's behavior is stealthy. After going to the deer's side. Shoot with poisoned arrows. The third chapter of the treatise by Masurasaksa ends. One's own benefit should be done with effort. Don't think about the benefit of others in the same way. By abandoning the benefits of oneself and others. Wisdom will not be attained. Do not yield to the wishes of others. Be diligent in doing your own work. Using eye medicine can see food. Ants accumulate food. Similarly, the wise accumulate little and use it. Do not be ignorant, deceive everyone. For the ignorant, always deceive. Trust those who do not trust. Be stingy yourself and consider others. Trivial, meaningless things should not be done. Do giving, reciting scriptures, and other things. Just as fireflies deceive ants with saliva. Make noble people happy. Do not associate with unruly people. Do not trust unkind people. Be brave and steadfast towards enemies. Be patient with people like the guru. For prostitutes, seduce them. Whoever fully understands these. Knowing everything. He can understand the world and worldly affairs by distinguishing what to take and what to discard. Whoever has wealth. That person will become attached to work. Whoever likes what words. Praise that person's virtues. Do not trust those who do not trust. Do not trust those who trust too much. Fear arises from trust. It even cuts off from the root. Do not trust all beings. Do not trust everyone either. Hide your own nature. Understand the nature of others.
