In this regard, the difference between existence and non-existence lies in: negation with "non-existence" is direct expression, while negation with "non-" is indirect expression. For example, to explain that rabbits have no horns, one might say to the blind, "There is no inherent nature of hardness and sharpness growing on the head, so rabbits have no horns." Then, it can be understood as having no horns, and will not be understood as something else. Negation with "non-" is indirect expression. For example, if one calls the royal caste "non-Brahmin," then by negating Brahmin, one can understand it as another caste. Therefore, this is an indirect way. Cutting off pervasive conceptualization is "non-existence," and revealing suchness is "non-". In this regard, how does negation with "non-existence" cut off pervasive conceptualization? For example, some people mistake a rope for a snake. If one says, "There is no snake," this is negation with "non-existence," thereby cutting off pervasive conceptualization. Negation with "non-" reveals the suchness of all phenomena. For example, expressing with words such as "all phenomena are unborn" or "unextinguished" reveals the dharma-nature of all phenomena, that is, the suchness that is free from elaboration. Also, for example, the word "non-attachment" does not merely reveal the absence of attachment, but reveals the suchness of virtuous dharmas that are the antidote to attachment. Eliminating the views of others is the necessity of "non-existence," while establishing one's own views uses "non-". In this regard, negation with "non-existence" eliminates the views of others, that is, eliminates the views of other schools. Here, "desire" refers to the nature of wanting, and "school" refers to the difference between wisdom and faith. The "desire" here also refers to the desire of definite clinging. Eliminating the views of others is to eliminate the desires of those who cling to "self," so one says "no-self," thereby abandoning the promised views. Negation with "non-" is to establish one's own views, that is, those dharmas that, in these dharmas, show the nature of dharma as separate from the nature of self, and establish one's own views. When one wants to eliminate non-realization, wrong realization, and doubt, "non-existence" will appear. That is to say, the speaker's intention is the intention. For example, for ordinary people who have not realized the non-self of all phenomena,

The speech generated by whatever intention that wants to eliminate the thoughts of those heretical outsiders and hesitant beginners, that will become negation in a non-negative occasion, and it should be understood that the time of arising is that very time. If you want to comprehend the meaning itself, non-negation will arise. This refers to the speech that arises from whatever intention that wants to comprehend the nature of the meaning of all phenomena, that will become not negation in the occasion of negation, but belongs to the category of negation. Now, in order to clearly explain the previous statement that "meaning and the way of entering, necessity, and the time of arising, there are four in order," it is said that "the sound of negation and what is to be negated are considered to be the meaning that should be indicated," and so on. Among them, the sound of negation is obstruction, just like saying: "ཧྱ་ན་ཨ་བྷི་གང་ལྡན་པ། (Tibetan)(Sanskrit Devanagari)(Sanskrit Romanization)(Chinese literal meaning)". What should be negated is what is together with it, that is, what should be prevented by the agent. What those two should indicate is from what should be said to what should be understood. That is its meaning, and it should be known like that, this is the intention here. The way of indicating is: "How the meaning is indicated, the way is considered here as a method." This refers to the way of how to indicate, that is, the way of direct entry and the way of indirect entry, which have been examined before. Here refers to the occasion of indicating. The way refers to the method. The method is also the reason or the gateway. In other places, it is also used for nature, reason, sum, approach, and inferiority.
