In the state of being separated from union, there is no action that causes union. Similarly, in the state of having union, there is no action that causes separation. Therefore, in these two states, there is neither union nor separation. Here, those who assert philosophical tenets say, "If that is the case, why is there no action?" If they are related and of the same essence, then why should there not be action? If it is said that there is no action because there is no agent, then therefore it is said, "Also the agent." If the object of essence has no difference, then why should there not be an agent? If it is said that the agent has no cause, then again, the answer is given with "Why is there not?" Therefore, because the answer is the same, it is difficult to answer. Therefore, you yourself also say that what was previously unsuitable as the essence of separation, etc., later becomes suitable as the state of union, etc., this transformation is of no use in any way. The essence of the substance that was previously suitable as the basis for union, etc., later also remains suitable as its state, you should say that. Why? This is like asking for a reason as before. If the object suitable for having union, etc., is permanent, then if it is related, it remains at all times as the essence suitable as the basis for union, etc. Separation from this is contradictory. The explanation of this is that having union, etc., is a contradictory connection, which is easy to understand. Also, say "Through it is also separation from union, etc.," that is, all these separations from union, etc., should also be explained through it. For it, when two related things are connected separately, there is no possibility of generating the wisdom of having, that is, the possibility of generating the wisdom of having. There is no possibility, and there is no cause for it, etc. Similarly, the wisdom of separation, etc., should also be explained. When speaking of suitable words, it is necessary to clearly state the essence of the object, therefore, the essence of the object is explained with suitable words.

One should not promise to accept anything other than what can be expressed. If asked, "Who expresses it?" The answer is: "Separation, possession, and those who go." The explanation of this is that it is expressed by the words of actions that are separate from conjunction. If it can be expressed by words such as conjunction, then when showing that this very thing is the case, what is the use of examining other meaningless things such as going? That is to say, what is the need to examine meaningless things such as going? There is no need at all, which is the meaning of abandoning. Among the "etceteras" are conjunction, separation, other, non-other, and so on. There is no need to examine these either. Why? This is asking for a reason like a trunk. The explanation of this is, "For things such as going." If it exists, the explanation of this is, "After examining." Because the connection here cannot be established, the explanation of this is, because from below, all connections related to others are denied, therefore the connection of this action, conjunction, separation, etc., cannot be established, so how can there be an expression with such a reason? That is to say, when all connections related to others are denied, who will express the connection that this is the action of this thing, this is the conjunction, this is the separation? If there is no connection, how can words with a cause of connection, such as "This is this," arise? How can one recognize the actions of other things, etc., because it is not related to other things, because it is not related. The desire to manifest is also the same, that is to say, how can one recognize the actions of Deva-datta, etc., because it is not related, so it is not related to offerings. Similarly, recognizing one's own actions, etc., is also similar because it is not related, so it will not be related either. Because it is related to actions, etc., in this way, it is not going, etc., therefore, with the causes and conditions of continuous arising, the things that arise in each moment due to other causes and conditions.
