Only he can do it, not others. Therefore, the establishment of knowables is the cause of consciousness. Therefore, only the establishment of knowables can cast the valid means of establishing it. The reason is that composing treatises is for the sake of others, as it is said. Thus, composing treatises is for the sake of others, for the sake of others to understand, this is its definition. In order to show that other's sake, it is said that there are signs of three aspects and so on. If someone who is happy to benefit others says to others that the signs of three aspects are to teach you the meaning of the characteristics to be inferred, then those others who do not know that aspect will not enter into the hidden meaning with that aspect. Therefore, teaching the scriptures is to make others know. When showing the objects of existence and non-existence, although consciousness has been established, some bad logicians only distinguish between the existence and non-existence of reason in similar and dissimilar classes, only by seeing and not seeing. For example, because he is his son, he is blue, like his other son. His son is visible in the similar class, but invisible in the dissimilar class. Therefore, they claim that this is also established as a reason by seeing and not seeing. Thus, in order to refute their claims, the word of certainty is very well connected in the statement of characteristics. In order to explain that the word of certainty is the intention of one's own school, it is said that although there are existence and non-existence, etc. In some cases, although existence and non-existence exist by their own nature, as long as the concomitance and exclusion are uncertain, there will still be doubt about existence itself. Therefore, in order to understand the establishment of these two, which depends on what valid means to determine the existence and non-existence of these two, I have made a statement of certainty. Concomitance and exclusion

The sound of "yi" refers to things that are present and absent here. The sound of "completely accomplished" refers to distinct establishments. In order to show that knowledge itself is separate and non-self-natured, even by merely stating existence and non-existence, it is said, "merely by stating existence and non-existence," etc. Because merely by stating presence and absence in accordance and opposition, one can infer the valid cognition that establishes it, therefore, it is not that knowledge becomes a separate self-nature from existence and non-existence. Here, it is said, "because the meaning is understood by that itself" as a reason, because merely by stating existence and non-existence, one can understand the meaning of knowledge, therefore, it should not be separated. Here, it is said, "like the meaning of guiding according to the nature of the concordant side," for example, merely by stating the nature of the concordant side, one can understand the meaning of guiding, just as one does not speak separately from the nature of the concordant side. Here, in order to show the opponent's error, it is said, "then the following and the contradictory also," etc. If one does not wish to separate them because of understanding the meaning, then, alas! The following and the contradictory should also not be spoken separately. Here, it is said, "because both are understood by combining one," because merely by combining one, both can be understood, therefore, like guiding, these two should not be spoken separately, this is the former's view. Those who establish tenets do not think so. It is said, "in the concordant and discordant sides," etc., in the concordant and discordant sides, whatever existence and non-existence are the reasons, those that are mutually dependent, either the words that show existence in the concordant side, or the words that show non-existence in the non-concordant side, are all possible. It is not merely saying one that can understand both existence and non-existence, which is the same meaning as the second case. Therefore, these two are different branches because their meanings are different. The opponent thinks that these two have the same meaning, and holds onto the scriptures.

Furthermore, as stated in "only exists," etc., it means: Alas! Are the words "being present in the similar class" and the corresponding words "definitely absent in the dissimilar class" not mutually exclusive? If one says "being present in the similar class," one also understands "being absent in the dissimilar class." If one says "definitely absent in the dissimilar class," one also understands "being present in the similar class." Therefore, the two have the same meaning. This is the former position. The proponent says: As stated in "this word," etc., it means: Alas! The power of words is to mutually exclude the two by force. Why? As stated in "establishing certainty as one," etc., it means: Because any word that establishes certainty also excludes the absence of the two, therefore, whatever mutually excludes the two is the power of words, and not only the presence and absence of the two can mutually exclude each other. If one says: Those associated with certainty can also mutually exclude each other? Therefore, it is said, "Those associated with certainty are not only," etc., meaning: When presence and absence are associated with certainty, one should not say "only." Here, the certainty established as the reason is the nature of both. Thus, it is said, "In all places, the meaning of the nature of presence and negation, certainty is the nature of both." Thus, from the statement, the nature of negating the negation is determined to be presence. Therefore, whatever is spoken by one's own words and what is prevented by the power of holding certainty also becomes the nature of both. Therefore, presence and absence, those associated with certainty, should not be called "only." To conclude, as stated in "therefore, by what is presence or absence," etc., it means: Because those associated with certainty should not be designated with the term "only," therefore, for what reason does only presence exclude the absence of the two, or only absence exclude the presence of the two? In this, one should definitely understand "only nature."
