Therefore, this example is not Svātantrika, because if this example is not related to the subject, i.e., it is not related, then it is meaningless. Or, if the reason does not show the relevance to the example, then the example itself cannot prove what is to be proven, so it is meaningless. If the reason proves the relevance, then it itself can understand the pakṣa, so the example has no separate function. There are eight meanings of understanding, namely perception and similar perceptions, etc. Among them, the first chapter explains perception and similar perception. The second chapter explains inference and similar inference. The third chapter explains the statement and similar statement, as well as the nature of refutation and similar refutation. Six have been explained, and now wanting to explain similar refutations, so it is said, "Stating incompleteness, etc., is refutation," etc. The so-called "incompleteness, etc.," refers to the detailed explanations of the nature of unestablished, uncertain, and contradictory. The so-called "stating these" means that the opponent states the flaws of the statement, etc. Because the one who states is the opponent, the opponent will repeat it like that, and if the flaws, etc., are stated truthfully, then the opponent's statement is a refutation, because this word can hinder the other party from realizing the opponent's intention. If it is said, "Even if the fault is not stated," etc., it is unreasonable to say that the statement will hinder the thing that wants to be established, because the thing itself exists in incompleteness, etc., so it cannot be established, and it is not because the statement cannot be established, this is a rebuttal. The so-called "the ability of a person is established" means that whether it is a person with wrong understanding or a person with correct understanding, they cannot realize their own intentions due to the difference of people, and they can refute others. The difference between winning and losing in debate is determined by the statement, because the ability of failure and victory generated by the statement and refutation can only be realized through the statement, so the statement is a refutation.

That is, pointing out faults in that way is because the opponent has already pointed out faults such as incompleteness. Also, if the debater says completeness, etc., and uses other arguments, etc., to perfect it, then the opponent's pointing out faults will not hinder the debater's later intentions. Because what is being argued is something else. It is said, "Because it is of a different nature," if the previous nature is like that, because what is established is something else, because it hinders the previous one, then it is a refutation. It is said, "If the previous proponent wants to speak," because they want completeness, etc., and the intention of speaking has been completed, if they want to speak, then pointing out faults such as incompleteness in the middle is not a refutation because it is not timely. It is said, "When the language stops," it means when the previous proponent has finished speaking what they wanted to say. Therefore, one should ask, "Have you finished speaking?" If they answer, "I have finished," then one should state the refutation. Otherwise, it will become like a refutation. Therefore, it is said, "When the language stops, pointing out faults in it is refuting the establishment of it." Otherwise, it is not, that is, it appears there, that is, it is placed in the position of refutation, but it cannot refute. Appearing there is a reversal, that is, speaking in the position of refutation, but not being able to refute, that is, speaking of something that is not a fault. Therefore, it is said, "One should not speak of faults." If the distinctions of reversal are explained in detail, and pointed out definitively with Foot-Eye, etc., then why are they not pointed out here? It is said, "The wrong path has no boundaries, therefore it is not elaborated on here." Why is it without boundaries? Because the cause of the wrong path is non-reasoning, which has no boundaries, because it is arbitrary. Saying "the characteristic of what is said" is the characteristic spoken by Foot-Eye. Because it is not included among those reversals, it is something else. If even if it is a refutation, it does not become an additional reversal, then
