it will become like this. Even if it is an illusion, it is a valid cognition. Why? Because intention does not deceive. The cognizer who is attached to things that can fulfill a purpose, like this, not being deceived about the desired thing is itself a valid cognition. If someone asserts that such a thing does not exist, then it is uncertain, because someone who is attached to the light of a jewel can obtain that thing. If someone also asserts that this is grasping something that is not in accordance with the way things are, then for the assertor, this is the assertion itself. The first inference itself is uncertain, just like this, that is, cognition appears in a different way, like being attached to the light of a jewel. If it is necessary to prove that one does not grasp reality, then this is asserting what is desired. In the first example of the opposite argument, having the thought of a jewel for the light of a jewel is uncertain. For the second example, it is also not established, just like this, this aspect has already been paid for. Like this, the consciousness of discrimination is not grasping things, this has already been proven by the reason called "what is said." The light of jewels and lamp flames, etc., through these, for inferences and opposite situations, it is shown that that itself is uncertain. The light of jewels and the light of lamp flames are the light of jewels and lamp flames, for those things that have become objects. If someone manifests with the thought of a jewel, even if there is no difference from erroneous consciousness, how can there be a difference in function? Like that, even if it is not a real thing, even if it is an illusion. What is it? It is inference and appearance. It is established as a valid cognition. For what reason? Because of fulfilling a purpose and being associated with it. From this aspect, like this, the only situation where one is not deceived about the desired thing, that is a valid cognition. One person thinks the light of a jewel is a jewel, another person thinks the light of a lamp flame is a jewel, these two people are similar in their illusion about jewels, because they have not grasped the nature of the jewel itself. Like that, when one person enters with the thought of a jewel, they can obtain the jewel, because that is entering from the consciousness related to the jewel. The other person is not, because there is no connection. Like that, in fulfilling a purpose and following

Because of the connection, one of them is non-deceptive and the other is not, this is the difference. Thus, although both inference and appearance are confused consciousness, there is no difference, but one is a thing that can function, and meets with the thing, because it is indirectly produced from it, so it is related to it. The other is not, so one is valid cognition and the other is not. Since it is so, in order to know through one's own nature and self-character and other-character, what are their characteristics like? And after establishing the object of measurement as two, now wanting to show only how to become the two objects of measurement, therefore it is said "From what thing's function" etc. From what thing's function, the meaning of what thing is, from the ability of that thing, that is, from the power. That thing is from near and non-near etc. that are suitable as objects. The wisdom of following and opposing, the appearance seen must be the appearance of manifestation. This is to say that if it exists, it arises through the way of following it. Such a thing, the self-sufficient one who holds it, is not the one who holds the self-nature dependent on the object of measurement. Therefore, this is explaining the object. Thus, what follows and opposes with the appearance of wisdom, that is the object of direct perception. Apart from that, surpassing the root consciousness, any thing suitable as an object, having the nature of near and non-near, the wisdom of the behavior of following and opposing, is not directly functioning, that is the hidden thing. The nature of direct perception and hidden, also depends on the current state of the knower. If it is not so, then when the difference in the state of the viewer and the appearance itself changes, the nature of direct perception and hidden will transform into other forms, this is what it indicates. Since it is so, like this, because it is admitted that some things are direct perception, all of that is the state of manifestation nature, and it is not a hidden thing held as a self-nature determined separately, what kind of nature is it, thus asking.
