Because it has been transformed. Because it is established from the absence of obstruction. If that meaning has no result, from the measure of knowledge itself, to say that another meaning is the result. Knowledge with a determined nature is a measure, and after that measure arises, it further understands the meaning, if it is said like that, there is no result. If it is said that the knowledge that distinguishes is a measure, it is not at the time of the knowledge that distinguishes the generalities and so on, and the knowledge that distinguishes things and so on is the result. Because that distinction and the other are different. Different is that the distinguisher and the distinguished things are different, and it is also unreasonable to become a measure in other realms and to become a result in others. For example, cutting and dissecting with sandalwood utensils, it has not been seen to cut meat with it. If it is said that it is the cause of the knowledge of the distinguished things, so it is also its realm, that is not right, because it is too broad. If it is like that, then all the authors will become one, because it is the cause of the knowledge of the distinguished things, it is its author. Therefore, for whomever it is said to have the action of karma, then it should be its result. Other, there is not on that, and there is also no result of not further understanding the distinction on that, and there is no measure. If it is two, if it is said that the knowledge of distinguishing itself also becomes both the measure and the measured, just like when one knows oneself, it also becomes the measured, and it is also like the grasper. No, it will also become the distinguished thing. If it is like that, then the knowledge of the distinguished thing will also obtain both the measure and the measured. If it is said that knowledge and the known are other meanings, it will also become the measure and the measured, just like the knowledge of knowing oneself, that itself will also become the two things. The knowledge of distinguishing is the same as oneself, it is not right to say that, and it should be combined for both. If it is like that, then even if the known is understood, what is not understood, and the separation from doubt and inverted understanding, that becomes the result, that is also unreasonable. Because of what? It is not for everything such as not understanding.

Those certainties arising from non-comprehension, etc., do not exist, because in some cases, knowledge arises merely from guessing. Even if non-comprehension, etc., are allowed to exist, error does not exist as a result. If 'error' is called the absence of non-comprehension, etc., then that which does not exist is not a result, because it will become measurable, since there is no speculation. Thus, for the time being, the direct perception of those with reason is not reason. The Sutra of the Vaibhashikas says that, for the time being, that which is established solely from relation is direct perception for substance. It also says that that which is established from the encounter of self, sense faculty, and object is other. Some consider the object to be different from the valid cognition, because it is a non-common cause, so they consider the encounter of sense faculty and object to be valid cognition. Others say that because it is the chief, the encounter of self and mind is valid cognition. Thus, this contradicts what is said that what is established from doubts and decisive knowledge is direct perception and inferential knowledge. The knowledge born from the encounter of the four is not the same as that born from determination, because determination is preceded by investigation, while direct perception is merely seeing the object. The so-called merely seeing the object is born from the encounter of the four; for that, where would there be investigation and speculation? Those who say that the encounter of sense faculty and object is valid cognition actually have nothing further to indicate. According to the view of those who say that the encounter of sense faculty and object is valid cognition, when one wants to know 'What is this?', one will grasp all objects, because one encounters the nature of everything. For those who say that the encounter of self and mind is valid cognition, as previously stated, there is no such thing as being valid cognition for one object and a result for another on different objects. Furthermore, direct perception that relies on the distinction of generality and that relies on substance, quality, and action should not be combined, because what is born from the encounter of sense faculty and object has the meaning of seeing the object. It should not be combined with distinctions. Because the wisdom of the sense faculties only grasps its own object, it is unreasonable to combine it with distinctions. This is the generality of this, and it is substance.

It is necessary to ascertain the two meanings of "and" in "related to earth, etc.," and examine it accordingly. Moreover, since it is memory, etc., it is only reasonable to distinguish this with the wisdom of mind. Otherwise, the perception of "the smell is sweet" would also become direct perception. It is also unreasonable for it to become so, because the distinguisher and the distinguished are objects of different senses. If one says that because it is the same substance, it is an object of multiple senses, then it is not one, but becomes multiple like form, etc. Where is the oneness seen in form, etc., which is to be apprehended by multiple senses? Non-one forms, etc., also become one. If it is asserted that even if it is an object of multiple senses, there is no difference, then form, etc., will also become one like substance. If it is said that it is seen, if those are like this, even if the senses are different, the knowledge of the object is not different, it is only not seen, like existence itself and quality itself, etc. Therefore, it is not established that form, etc., fall into oneness and multiplicity. If such non-different knowledge is seen, however, that is not from the senses. It is not knowing the object of another sense through the senses. Why? Because other senses would become meaningless. If it is asserted that the object of another sense can also be apprehended by another sense, then analyzing multiple senses for form, etc., becomes meaningless. If it is like this, since form, etc., exist separately, one sense cannot apprehend it, that is also unreasonable. Why? Because the senses can apprehend their own different objects. For one's own object, such as the difference of blue, etc., and the difference of number, etc., you think that the senses can apprehend the different objects. If apprehending the difference of number, etc., that is not apprehending the object of another sense. The object of another sense is like touch, which is different from form, how can the eye grasp it? If the object of touch is grasped by the eye, then the object of another sense is also the eye's own object. Because it has been clearly admitted, even if it is different, such as blue, etc.
