It is the heaviness of body and mind, the body being unfit for work, and the mind being unfit for work. Being free from work is being without activity. Sleep is the manifest gathering of the mind. Regret is mental discomfort. What is called a Bodhisattva is a householder. What is called a diligent practitioner of vows is an ordained person. Compassion being of one taste is being of one taste with freedom from suffering. Radiance is beauty itself. What is called virtue is by the characteristic of diligence. Majesty is concealment, that is, not being overwhelmed. Peace is near peace. Why is it established only from this? It is said that what arises subsequently is mentioned. On the first ground, the three attachments are subsequently formed, and anger and doubt are abandoned. What is called 'born' is because of being born. Naturally abiding in those paths of the ten virtuous actions. Because great and middling attachment and hatred are completely exhausted. To practice patience and diligence especially is the meaning of what is called the supreme of patience and diligence. Great power is the lord of many, that is, the master of the great assembly of gods. Desire is form and so on. Being attached to them is being attached. Reversing is to reverse. Whatever has light shining on it, that is what it is called. Abiding on the first ground and so on, it is also mentioned as special because they are practiced. The arising of the view of the aggregates is the cause, and because it arises from this, it is ignorance. From that, the grasping at self arises, and because ignorance is weakened, it is abandoned. Completely destroying is uprooting. On whatever the absence of self of phenomena or liberation and so on, the noble truths are initially present, that is, knowing them. Being skilled in this is being content, because they have arisen. The afflictions of all non-Buddhists are the five sufferings of the body and so on. The wrong view of thinking that one is liberated by this. In order to obtain the Buddha's Dharma, it is manifestly inclined and in accordance. Tranquility is meditation. Insight is wisdom. What is called familiarizing with them is repeatedly manifesting.

The ground is. Cessation is the nature of entering into absorption or the cessation of afflictions. Because of increasing by obtaining it, or because of being completely pure, or because of being completely vast. Whoever has a good emanation is called that. Unseizable is not being subdued. Excessive pride is pride upon pride, whoever has those is called that. Making those peaceful is making them near to peace. This is a number and also long, therefore it is a long number, because it possesses and follows it. The cause of being long is stated. Because after obtaining this ground, one enters into cessation in an instant, therefore that ground is long due to the number of time and qualities. It is said thus, whoever is long in terms of number and qualities, he will have power over the absorption of cessation, but not others. Power is over afflictions or cessation. Precisely for that reason, the name of this ground is Suchness. Bodhisattvas are not moved by the distinctions of names and efforts, therefore they are immovable, therefore it is indicated by the term immovable. How is it immovable? Because it does not discriminate. How is it immovable, just as the body and "is" etc. are mentioned. The sphere of activity of the body etc. that resides on which ground cannot be conceived, that is called that. Just as in the world, one who has passed the stage of childhood is called a youth, so also in this Great Vehicle, one who has passed the stage of afflictions is called a youth, for afflictions make one become a child. Similarly, just as an adult is called a crown prince, so here also one who is mature in Dharma is called a crown prince. Whoever has wisdom that is particularly superior to those of the lower grounds, that is excellent wisdom. Individual correct knowledge is the basis of the nature of meanings etc. The word cloud is a near synonym for many. Whoever has the attainment of the Dharma cloud from the Tathagatas is called that. This is indicated by the excellent rain of Dharma etc. Great power is
