Is sitting on the ground before my father as delightful as being on a lion throne? Is the happiness derived from serving my father's feet also found in kingdoms? Does the joy of consuming the guru's leftovers exist for those who rule the three realms? The kingdom bestowed by the guru is certainly a source of suffering, so what merit is there in it? Vidūṣaka thought, "Ah, this person must be infatuated with serving the guru." Therefore, I should say something here as well. Clearly, friend, I am not saying this solely for the sake of the pleasures of the kingdom, but you also have other tasks to do. The Leader (King): With a smile, said, "Am I not already doing things? Look!" Assigning ministers to the appropriate paths, placing the holy ones in comfort. Similarly, treating relatives as myself, and also protecting the kingdom. Giving fruits beyond expectations, giving to those who come to beg, thinking of their needs. What other tasks are on your mind besides these? Speak! Vidūṣaka: Friend, the extremely powerful and destructive goddess Mātaṅga, who is close to the opposing side, even if important officials and relatives are securely in place, without you, I do not think the kingdom will be well. The Leader (King): Do you have doubts that Mātaṅga will take the kingdom? If that were to happen, what would become of it? Is not my body and everything else entirely protected for the sake of others? Whatever is not given by oneself is a gift from the father. Therefore, what is the use of such meaningless worries? One should diligently fulfill the father's instructions. Vidūṣaka: What instructions did the father give? The Leader (King): Just as after much observation, this forest of asceticism is filled with sandalwood, kuśa grass, flowers, useful roots, fruits, trees, spices, and many herbs. Therefore, my father instructed me, "Go to the Malaya Mountains and find some suitable places to reside." Therefore, I will go to the Malaya Mountains for a while," and so he departed. Vidūṣ
