The drama of "Naga All Joyful," the Joyful God. The drama of "Naga All Joyful." The Joyful God. In Indian language: Nāgānanānāmanāṭaka. In Tibetan: The drama of "Naga All Joyful." Homage to the All-Knowing One. Holding a body obscured by the bristling hairs born from the guise of joy and non-joy, with a smile, arranging flowers in the palms of the victorious ones' enlightenment, bees vigorously flapping their wings and making sounds, serving with the desire for honey, and with their feet trampling and closing the flowers, the stamens bloom anew, may you protect. Assuming the guise of meditation, opening your eyes in an instant, whom do you contemplate in your heart? Although you are said to be a protector, you regard the disembodied death as torment, and do not protect these beings. Pretending to be compassionate, where else is there a heartless man other than you? The demonesses say this to enlightenment with jealousy, may the Victorious One protect you. Furthermore, drawing the bow, beating the drum of desire, the warrior of Mara making sounds, with furrowed brows, trembling violently, grinning, looking askance, the assembly of heavenly maidens, having accomplished perfection, limbs extremely bent, the wealth god with a body bristling with amazement, in order to attain enlightenment, watching the unwavering meditation, may the Powerful One protect you. Becoming exceedingly numerous, rejoicing and holding the scriptures. Today, at the master's feast, coming from all directions, the assemblies of kings who attend upon the lotus feet of the glorious Joyful God, calling out with reverence, said to me: Just as our lord, the glorious Joyful God, adorned with unprecedented objects, starting from the biographies of the Vidyadharas, composed the drama of "Naga All Joyful," we have heard from the lineage of listeners, but have never seen its composition. Therefore, with reverence for the king, and with the intention of benefiting us, please perform the drama as it is. Therefore, for now, let us first arrange the colors, and then complete it fully as desired. May the minds of these assembled beings be completely satisfied.

I am certain of this. Why? Those who possess auspicious joy, poets, and assembled wise men hold virtues. In the world, the conduct of Bodhisattvas, captivating dramas, we are skilled in. Here, even each and every thing is a place to obtain the desired fruit. My fortune is vast, what need is there to mention this assembly of all virtues? Therefore, let us summon a female servant for a while and have her sing. Having completely traversed and looked back manifestly, then the noble mother is here for a while. Then the dancer entered crying. The director, having seen this, said: Noble mother, if we are to perform the drama called "Naga All-Joyful," why do you cry for no reason? The dancer said: Master, how can I not cry? Because my father, having become weary with my mother due to old age, thinking, "Now you can bear to take on the burden of relatives," then departed to the forest of asceticism. The director said: I have also been abandoned, how did my father and mother depart to the forest? Having contemplated, what is appropriate to do now? Or, how can I stay at home, having abandoned the bliss of serving the feet of the guru? Just like a cloud chariot, Power comes and goes in succession, For the sake of accomplishing the service of my parents, I too shall go to the forest. Having departed, the scene changes. Then the cloud chariot and the jester entered. The guide said: I know the place called "Attachment." I have not failed to understand what is called "Destruction." For those who discern what should and should not be done, Who has not realized that they have turned away? Serving my parents, This one who is controlled by youth and senses, If he were to do this with reverence, Even if he deserves to be blamed, he will bring joy. The jester, with anger, said: Alas, when these old folks, living as if dead, dwell in the forest like this, having experienced suffering for so long, have you not become weary? Therefore, with great joy, now still withdraw from attachment to serving the feet of the guru for a while, and enjoy the bliss of the kingdom! The guide said: How?
